It's probably been covered and I am late to catch on. Blush

I'm thinking of ordering the season 1-4 DVD which is currently reduced on Amazon.

However I can't really stomach don't really like extreme or explicit on-screen violence.

So, is this really full on or not that bad?

I did not get fully, obsessively hooked till about the start of series 3 , though always thought it was good

Now that I have actually finished it, having bought netflix just to get series 6, i realise it was almost as good as the Wire, so one of the best things I have ever watched on TV

I actually miss it now

Bizarrely, I think gus was one of my favourite characters

That's funny because we gave up on the Wire after about two episodes - couldn't understand a word anyone was saying or a damn thing that was going on! Perhaps I should try again.

Breaking Bad is the most amazing series I have ever watched..... EVER! It has love, laughter, hate, darkness, plotting, murders... everything. It is such a gripping storyline. I started late, just watched all 5 series in 1 month! Just couldn't leave it. Now I wish I had taken my time so I could savour it a little bit longer!
You will not be disappointed.
However, I must say it is VERY graphic and grim at times. But it all adds to the story. Non of the violence is there just for the sake of it. It all adds to the characters story and personality. You will understand when you watch it... :o)

Also, we have Netflix for £5.99 a month. They have all the seasons on there and if you have ps3/media server you can stream them anytime. Maybe cheaper than buying them (we got it just for Breaking Bad!)

Very graphic at times. I vividly remember the time We sat down to watch it with a pizza, and the episode was the one where Walt and Jesse clean up the hallway in Jesse's house. I've never looked at pizza the same way since!

Is it worth watching.....for a Dexter addict?

aristocat · 25/11/2013 21:23

Yes Jake it is the best show ever, Dexter was good but the last few series/seasons were getting worse and worse. The Trinity season was awesome and it just went downhill from there.

Love , love BB and am rather lost now we've finished watching it . I used to love Dexter but got bored in season 5 and didn't carry on . Quite gory but all in a good cause . Wink

Im another who subscribed to netflix just to be able to watch all of the seasons in one go. Took me about 5 weeks or so but it was well worth it.

The violence and gore are extreme but strangely fit in with the storyline so you both hate and admire the characters at the same time.

I havent started watching Dexter yet but have embarked on The Walking Dead on.Now thats REALLY gory . Grin
