Accidentally filled up the last thread without realising.

Have the day off today so can sit and watch the tennis scores update.

We still have Tennis Tennis too.

Fucking hell, I rushed cooking tea and we are running an hour fucking late and the BBC having an hours chat because clearly they haven't the rights for the doubles.

Fuck, fuck, fuck

JuanPotatoTwo · 11/11/2013 20:30

Never mind, you're here now :)

JuanPotatoTwo · 11/11/2013 21:19

Great set.

Raahh · 11/11/2013 21:20

oh rubbish.

I have been ill all day with a lousy migraine.I turn on to discover Rafa has lost the first set.

Sad Tennis

Well that was a bit sad.

Got all mega excited to see the final was avilable on BBC3 & hunkered down to watch it.

What a let down. Where was Rafa???

NoComet · 11/11/2013 23:21

Sad Where indeed was our Spanish God. I thought D might win, but that was too easy.

JuanPotatoTwo · 12/11/2013 16:36

He still ends the year at no 1 so that's something, although Im glad Djok won.

JuanPotatoTwo · 12/11/2013 17:12

Can we still convene on here to spout meaningless nonsense (that's mostly what I do at any rate) chat nicely? Or do we have to have seven weeks off like the players and train hard ready for next season?

Raahh · 12/11/2013 18:00

I can spout nonsense. It's what I do best.

We could have virtual tennis matches in the manner of:

Juan serves, it's out. Second serve swings out wide (but is in).

Then (but you have to do this bit):

Raahh reads serve direction, runs, stretches racquet out and send a return cross court.

We can all take it in turns to be umpire, ball girls, lines judges and players. Could waste hours and hours ...:)

ClayDavis · 12/11/2013 20:08

Hmm, I think in my case it will end up reading:

Clay reads serve direction, runs, stretches racquet out, trips over own feet and crashes into the umpire's chair.

Does anyone remember the MN Wimbledon doubles? I think I've been neglecting poor Dustin. He doesn't quite have Spanish god status.

Raahh · 12/11/2013 20:53

Raahh pretends to be Rafa's towel....

JuanPotatoTwo · 12/11/2013 21:05

I remember Dustin alright! Don't remember him in the doubles though. Raahh, you've put unclean thoughts in my head:

Juan offers up her services as Delpo's racquet. Delpo manoeuvres his racket skilfully, carries it everywhere with him, rubs it down regularly and thoroughly, fingers its strings - ooh, think I'd better stop there, I fear I've crossed a line Blush

Wasn't in the actual doubles. One of the Wimbledon threads there was some sort of MN doubles competition where we paired up with players. Based on their tennis skills obviously. Raahh was with Rafa I think. I had Dustin. I don't think we ever did anything with it. Just ended up as a list of names I think.

JuanPotatoTwo · 13/11/2013 20:54

Oh yes, I remember that now Clay. Justin has been keeping a very low profile recently hasn't he?

Raahh, not long now til the wanderer returns!

Raahh · 13/11/2013 20:59

Juan - no! 2pm our time tomorrow he starts the day long journey home. I think he's had a good time

JuanPotatoTwo · 14/11/2013 17:40

I'm having withdrawal symptoms! Anyone else? Fortunately I have a busy week next week to distract me. Going to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tomorrow, so looking forward to that too. What are you folks filling your tennis time with?

ClayDavis · 14/11/2013 18:59

Only 2 days in so withdrawal symptoms not too bad. Might catch up on the millions of things I have on iplayer. It's getting a bit silly. Was hoping to go on a bit of a day trip with work next week but was not to be.

Must be less than 24hours to go now Raahh.

Raahh · 14/11/2013 21:40

Clay-yes, Ds is on his way to Abu Dhabi, then due into Manchester at 2.30pm tomorrow afternoon. In someways, it has gone really quickly- but it seems like ages since I saw him.

Going to be down to earth with a bump for him on Monday morningGrin

Juan- watched a programme about 'CATCF' the other night, and all the probs involved in putting on a big musical. It looks really good. Have a great time. Coincidentally, I had to watch part of the film tonight, as dd1 has to sing the Augustus Gloop Oompa loompa song in assembly tomorrowGrin.
She is off to Cadbury world with school next Thursday, as their topic this term has been chocolate. i suppose South America to visit some Aztec ruins was out of the budgetGrin

ClayDavis · 15/11/2013 20:22

Hope he's back safe and well, Raahh and you are catching up.

Raahh · 15/11/2013 21:40

Thanks Clay- yes, been catching up with the washing Grin

Picked him up at 2pm- we watched his plane land. And it was very emotional- it was lovely to see him, and he seems so very grown up all of a sudden. He has had some amazing experiences. We had to keep him awake for a bit, but he was exhausted. Definitely a chance of a life time, and i am so grateful to his wonderful teachers who took him. really proud of him.

Raahh so glad he's back safe and sound, and that he's had this wonderful experience that he will treasure for years to come. I expect he has grown up in some ways. Hope they took lots of pics! Did his siblings miss him?

I wish I'd seen the programme about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, sounds interesting. Took ds1 out of school for the day yesterday and went up early so we could so the Natural History Museum. Dd and her boyfriend met us at the theatre, and we had a lovely evening. Show was very good, and very cleverly done I thought. Was funny and sad. Ds loved it, although for some reason he thought there would be sweets chucked into the audience and that didn't happen!

Are you iplayered out Clay?! I watched the Pot/Fed match from last Sat on iplayer primarily to see if I could hear myself shouting for Pot! I couldn't!

Hope your weekends are going well.
