Sons of Anarchy Series 6 episode 1 - Straw

Well everyone, the new series aired on FX on Weds night and I managed to, ahem, stream it this afternoon on internet, tried putlocker, but ended up via another route. Why should we have to wait til the new year -!?!?

Anyway, if any of you do get the chance to watch, do. It is, as usual, crushing violent in places and has a particularly shocking climax - there are reviews and spoilers all over the internet so be careful what you read.

We do, (yes, this is a spoiler, but in a good way!) get to see, er, a lot more of Jax in this episode, giving us some indication of what to expect in ' 50 shades of grey' - why is there so much criticism of him, have any of the critics actually seen him? Blush

Yes i do like him hes a great character and would be a lot of fun on a night out!

You are right they are all fit in their own way, not sure about bobby though Grin but he would be a good friend to go out on the raz with.

After Jax I also love Lincoln Potter and Roosevelt the cop.

Marcus Alvarez had an awesome moustache and i loved Opies hair < sobs>

Oooft chibs, but juice is my number one :) and nero has it going onnn haha, eli is quite sexy too.

RiffyWammal · 20/11/2013 09:56

I'd like Nero to call me 'Mama', I'd be his chola alright! Wink

cantheyseeme · 20/11/2013 12:07

Oh lordy! anyone seen lastnights episode?

guineapiglet · 20/11/2013 15:26

Eeek!

Just watched it - an amazing episode but very very bloody and one of the main characters now gone forever, leaving lots of bad feeling and the promise of worse to come arising out of this act of brutality...

Anyone else watch?

Very brutal.

cantheyseeme · 20/11/2013 16:06

I think tara is gonna change her mind about jax Grin

guineapiglet · 20/11/2013 22:01

I think lots of characters will start changing their minds after that brutal murder. Lots of stunned faces. Apparently next episode is in 2 weeks time so 2 more episodes until the end of the series...major stuff going down, brothers.......Grin

I've seen last nights - Holy fuck, I actually felt sick for most of the episode. Annoyed we have to take a break for Thanksgiving, but I suppose it prolongs the series a bit.

I too may have a slight Tig crush. Blush And have become overly interested in beardy tattoed men. I still miss Opie

I watched the trailer for the next episode, it all looks very stressful, I'm already having to watch from between my fingers!

BerryLellow · 20/11/2013 22:21

"Cor he makes me go all funny, a bit like Tara did after she had the weird perfume visit with Otto and she had to go home for a wank (WTF was that all about?)"

:o

cantheyseeme · 20/11/2013 22:57

I remembered that earlier aboout the wanking thing haha :)

RiffyWammal · 21/11/2013 10:59

Shock Shock Shock Shock

That's me watching this week's episode. Was Quentin Tarantino guest director or summat? I was watching thinking that Juice or Chibs were going to die in the break-out, so I was quite pleased with the outcome.

Noooo@waiting two weeks for the next episode! I find waiting a week hard as it is - watched the other seasons back to back, sometimes 2 or 3 episodes in a day!

guineapiglet · 21/11/2013 16:48

I know it really was ultra shocking with really tender bits esp unser and gemma, gemma and nero, all the brothers and bobby, even a flash of hope for tara and jax....feel that this may make gemma unravel. Will we get to see a ghost now if it is supposed to be based on hamlet? If that is the case there is only one outcome for dear gemma, tara and jax himself.

I know jax is filming for at least another series yaayy :) I didnt believe my friend when she told me jax was the main character in green street Confused

guineapiglet · 21/11/2013 19:07

Yeah, the next series, series 7 will be the last one, Sutter said he wasn't writing any more, so it will really all play out to the last breath next year.

Then what?

If I was KS, would be writing the Sons of the Sons of Anarchy about Abel and Thomas in 20 years time. (If they last that long.......,shudder.)

OP posts:
cantheyseeme · 21/11/2013 19:10

Kurt Sutter is genius Grin

BerryLellow · 28/11/2013 22:29

Hasn't Sutter mentioned writing something based around the Original 9?

I'm not thankful for thanksgiving making me Sons-less this week :(

guineapiglet · 04/12/2013 12:50

Just watched last night's episode, I just couldn't wait any longer. It is a bit of a heartbreaker to say the least, some good and tear jerking acting, and everything falling into place for next week's season finale.

Nero is absolutely brilliant, especially at the end when he is so conflicted. You get to see a lot of Juice! Grin.

Really clever writing again, and all set up to be a tear jerker next week Xmas Shock. Hope you all get to watch it and report back when you can!!!

< just been looking at Jax Teller tee shirts on Amazon, he needs our support brothers, although am probably waaaaaay too old for it!

OP posts:
guineapiglet · 04/12/2013 12:51

Why can I never do a strikethrough?

OP posts:
BerryLellow · 04/12/2013 22:11

I watched last night's earlier too. It went on a bit I thought though. I was expecting something more shocking last night, but I think you're right, Sutter was getting it all in place for next week. I dread to think what will happen...

guineapiglet · 05/12/2013 11:05

I know what you mean Berry, it felt like everything was kind of left simmering waiting to boil over next week.

< I then think, this 'tame' episode had drug overdose, the ruthless killing of miscelleneous outlaws, gang violence, the usual breakdown of law and order, the usual 'play' between the brothers, prostitution, etc, and think, wow, how normal is this!!!?> Grin.

Yep, just another 'tame' SOA episode!!

OP posts:
guineapiglet · 05/12/2013 11:06

.... and then what?

I am very fearful for Nero. :(

OP posts:
BerryLellow · 05/12/2013 23:35

I'm more worried about Juice tbh.

Sutter tweeted a youtube clip of next week's finale.....eeeeeeek!

And it's going to be TWO HOURS long! faints

guineapiglet · 11/12/2013 15:29

:( :( :(

Just watched season finale this afteroon, it -is quite long, so settle down with a glass or two and a big box of kleenex if you can!

No spoliers yet until some of you get to see it, then we can share kleenex - it is a very dramatic ending, and, though not entirely unexpected, very upsetting.

Speak to you later !

BerryLellow · 14/12/2013 11:46

I watched it on Wed evening - and felt rather unsettled for the rest of the night. SLightly dreading next season rather than looking forward to it now :(

After the dramatic bit I found it hard to concentrate on the very end. I may need to re watch it (although I'm not sure I want to see that bit again)

Did you watch Anarchy Afterword as well?

guineapiglet · 15/12/2013 14:26

Hi - no, I will try and watch it though. Like you, I was very disturbed by the brutality at the end, and felt very unsettled, even though, if it is to be true to Hamlet, the obvious had to occur in a way, even though we thought we were getting a reprieve, very clever writing.

WIll watch Anarchy afterword and get back to you. Still finding it hard to cope with nearly another 10 months before next season. Still, there is always Sherlock........
