The dance moms kids either go to regular school or are home ed. that's why it's such a lot if money.

I've just started season 3. I'm not liking it so much, it's less 'real' now that they're so well known.

Abby is a nightmare, but the mums are dreadful, too (in the main). Though they're not too dissimilar to 'comp' mums I've encountered, you couldn't pay me to do the comp circuit, we do ballet classes only (and some tap).

YESSSS!!
Finally - I've been desperate to find people I can talk to about this!
I watched the whole of the first series in one day when Bio showed it back to back (I was fighting jet-lag) and have been so very excited for the new series!
I do think alot of it, especially the arguments, must be "staged" but that doesn't stop me loving it! So addictive!
My DDs 11 and 13 do competitive dance and we definitely know a Kelly and a Kathy! Luckily DDs' teacher is not an Abby though!

I am hooked on this too! The girls are all so lovely and sweet, they seem to be so supportive of each other.

Kathy seems deranged! I'm hoping that it is staged as I can't imagine that there are actually characters like kathy out there!!

We're going to DDs first dance competition in 20 minutes. I hope it's not like dance moms - but I love the show.

And cheer perfection about the cheerleaders x2

Have finished season 3 also so have to console myself with cheer perfection until next season ??
I'm a Dance Mom but not as crazy as them - I hope!!

I don't know what series I'm watching. It's changed on Sky from Bio to Lifetime on 156, Monday 9pm.

I have loved Dance Moms from the first episode, have seen them all now and can't wait for more. I love the girls (who wouldn't) and the dancing but the 'moms' and their screaming arguments are tedious at times don't you find.

Abby's seeming dislike of Chloe seems real and is quite upsetting at times to me. Chloe seems a sweet, polite kid and it must be so hurtful. There are some moments in the show where you can see the girls do like Abby and she is fond of them, and we all know some of the situations are scripted. But I do sense she really doesn't like Chloe and if I were her mother I don't think I'd keep her there.

As for tuition costs you can see them here Abby Lee Dance Company Tuition Chart if you're interested. Looks like $282 a month if I'm reading it right for maximum number of classes which presumably 'our' girls are on, plus a regular fee for costumes, props, hair bits etc. Oh, plus those 'privates' they talk about! That all might add up to $16k a year I should think?

Anyone seen First Position? ' a 2011 American documentary film. It follows six young dancers preparing for the Youth America Grand Prix in New York City, an annual competition for dancers ages 9–19 to earn a place at an elite ballet company or school. ' I really recommend it, such talented dancers, really gripping.

I am watching on lifestyle on sky Monday nights. Spoiler alert, I think this is s2 e17?

I used to think that Maddie was a much better dancer than Chloe until they had the ballet audition. Maddie is better at the contemporary stuff in the competitions. Chloe is a beautiful ballerina; they have different styles.

Abby is so unprofessional. This week, she put Kelly's two girls on probation for something behind their control.

Melissa is an enigma. I can't fathom why she's had her fiance send later from his lawyers to the other moms. They were only asking about her engagement. It was nasty and conniving of her to tell Abby about Chloe going to the movies.
