Chatting to DH the other day and he asked if I fancied a drink. I said 'just the one.' Both of us looked at each other and said simultaneously, 'Just the one, Mrs Wembley' a line from On The Up. Started me thinking of old programmes that I'd like to see again...not necessarily for their quality, just for nostalgia. Anyone got any (that haventbeen on UKTV Gold Grin )

Home to Roost was great. It starred Reece Dinsdale who then went on to star in I.D. (the 90s film about 80s soccer hooliganism)

Just watched the whole series of Butterflies on box set. So good. Bittersweet & sad at the end. Not a Carla Lane fan generally but this is wonderful.

Crapston Villas! Great suggestion. Flossie!!!

Home to Roost was great. Showed how goodan actor John Thaw was. You couldnt imagine him as Inspector Morse when you watched thatvhe was just so different.

I'd love to see City Lights, a Scottish sitcom again,

Pure dead brilliant it was Grin Grin

Also would quite like to see Cadfael again, not a fan of modern detectives but I love the era Cadfael was set in.

Not the Nine o'clock News - I'm sure many of the sketches would be a bit dated now as it was so topical, but others would stand the test of time - my dc were in bits when I showed them the 'Gerald the Gorilla' Sketch when Mel Smith died..... "Wild, I was livid!" Grin

I'd love to see Common As Muck again, especially the first series.

Coupling and Game on were big favourites too, along with Teachers.

Loved City Lights and Still Game.

DS1 knows all the Not The Nine O'Clock News songs. I don't think the show dates as much as you'd imagine, but I'm a terrible old fogey.

Would love to see Press Gang again. Also Nice Work (David Lodge's adaptation of his own novel, starring Hadyn Gwynne and Warren Clark).

I have Not the Nine O'Clock News on DVD (wasn't allowed to watch it when it was broadcast). It's still hilarious.

I never saw Nice Work, think I must have been in the pub :) Gutted now of course as it's one of my favourite novels.

They did Small World too but I only have a vague memory of it.

I'm not sure I could stomach the 80's production values now.

Ones I used to love but not seen for years:

Watching
The Upper Hand
Prisoner Cell Block H
My Hero (think it was called that - had Father Dougal from Father Ted in it as the main character, think he was a superhero or something?!) Confused
Goodnight Sweetheart (loved that, but it's usually repeated on telly on freeview)
