Can you recommend a series?

Going in for c section next week and want to download a really good tv series in case I need something to take my mind off not having a drink for 8 hours or so.

I like: The White Queen, Sherlock, Rome, Falling Skies, Greys Anatomy, Cougar Town, Brothers and Sisters. Also character driven crime/thrillers (nothing too gritty).

Any ideas?! Would be very grateful.

Don't think we've mentioned six feet under. Another must watch series.

Try the first season of Scandal. Second is on More 4 at the moment. It's a cross between the West Wing and Greys Anatomy if there could be such a thing. I love it!

You will love the Good Wife, it's excellent.
We watched the first 3 episodes of Southcliffe last night, cannot wait til Sunday for the last episode.

In Treatment is brilliant, DP and I loved it, it was an obsession.

Did you watch The Hour? Very good.

Homeland is back for a third series at the end of September so you could catch up, (sorry can't remember if you have watched it)

I second scandal on more 4 too
Il think its great, different to most other programmes (different job roles of people etc) I have also really liked the good wife (need to get back to watching it)
I really like criminal minds too, lots of series available and not too gruesome
we watched Las Vegas, about people working in a casino which I liked (totally fictional)
Also prison break was good to get into
Oh and gossip girl

Actually tried Broadchurch the other day and it looks great but I'm not sure I can cope with it with pregnancy hormones as I already have a little boy. Will save it for later.

Forgot to say, I'm already up to date with Homeland!

I'm really jealous that you get to watch The West Wing for the first time; it's truly brilliant and just keeps getting better.

The West Wing is next in our hit list once we've finished 24 (again). Can't wait. DH and I love making our way through a box set of an evening. That, a cup of tea and a packet of biscuits is surely the basis of a great marriage!!!
