Just that: The Great British Bake Off returns on Tuesday 20th August on BBC Two I am so super excited Only 12 days to go!!!

I'm so excited for the return of GBBO! I've watched it from the start and loved every episode. So much so that during the first stage of labour with DD in 2011, I went to my grannies house to watch the final before going to the hospital!

My favourite to win from pictures only is Beca.

So excited. I LOVE this programme so much. And I don't really know why. I'm not British. I can't bake and I only like cake that involves chocolate or coffee. But I am absolutely glued to the screen when it's on. I love everything about it.

I love the way that it retains the reality-competition formula, yet it is not at all gratuitous or sneering. They manage to create interest and a narrative arc without compromising the integrity of the contestants or being predictable as so many other talent-show style programmes do. The judges are fair but kind, it's just so good natured and feel-good - I wish the were more programmes like this (I loved the sewing bee too for these reasons)

Anyone else for a bet before it starts?!

I think Ruby is pretty good and the guy with the glasses. Who is the nice young guy, he is good too.

I love Glenn though, everything is big! His trifle, yum!
