I was a bit uncomfortable with this tbh

I like the concept of re-using old things, but agree that I found something uncomfortable about going to house clearances and the like asking for things for nothing. Not quite sure why though.

However, the idiot who did up the lounge/dining room for the young woman and stuck tables on the wall made me laugh. His amazing new layout was achieved by putting the sofa right in front of the radiator thereby blocking all the heat from it and, as the sofa was old, possibly creating a fire hazard. Brilliant!

She comes across very badly and starting to become a bit of a know-all, do nothing presenter.

I liked her straight talking on the property porn programme, but she needs to realise that too much of something is a bad thing

I also think the programme will exploit sites like gumtree and freecycle - it is to keep things out of landfill but not for the purposes of someone who is hard up or can't really afford new.

Upcycling is great as a concept but not at the expense of denying people who can't afford to pay, just so that someone who has spent too much on an expensive house and the renovations can have naice vintage things. From threads I've read on here it seems that some people really take the piss anyway, this is going to make it worse.

That guy who put the fugly tables on the wall was the same one who cut a storage container into pieces and put it in his garden on that small spaces show, the one with the geordie guy.
