I'm looking forward to rewatching S8, it was a definite return to form after 6 and 7 (which I enjoyed but haven't wanted to watch over again unlike the previous 5). It'll be nice to chat about it on here again. We used to have threads running a couple of seasons ago, but the main culprits on those don't really post on MN any more.

Never been to Asylum, I'm a con virgin!

Two more days... I can't wait for Season 8. Seasons 6&7 have been a bit... meh. I didn't like the leviathans, the storylines didn't really have the punch of the earlier seasons. I want the episodes where you are sitting biting your knuckles and are absolutely wrecked at the end.

Agree with that oops. The crossroads demon with Dean's soul....then Sam sacrificing himself....gulp.....if the new season is as good as those I'll be very happy!

And we must have at least one episode where we are literally howling with laughter aka Yellow Fever. I re-watch that one if I'm feeling a bit blue, oh god Dean's face when he screams...

I think the original story that Kripke had was basically stretched out over the first 5 seasons....all the ones since have been tacked on the end, and yes 6 and 7 weren't the best by far. I'm gutted about Bobby...he was awesome. Season 8 is definitely much better.

I LOOOOVE Crowely....sorry but he is sexy....sexy without actually being sexy. His voice helps definitely.

Ditto - if those watching for the first time start talking then I'll join in, but I'm very wary of spoilers and talking about things with the perspective of having seen everything play out.

Having said that, can I just say how much I love Benny generally.

And how the Dean/Cas hug made me melt like a soppy 14yo.

And also that the Sam flashbacks actually annoy me more the second (ahem, third) time around.

I do have a touch of the starry eyed adoration for Mr Collins I'm afraid and I love Cas. As much as I've watched the show from the pilot and understand it is really the Sam and Dean Show of unhealthy eroticco-dependence, since S4 it just isn't the same without a little bit of terminally confused BAMF angel in it.

I am rewatching series 7 at the momen and start all the series from the start at least once a year. Used to play a game when watching new episodes, every time Sam flared his nostrils and Dean frowned we would take a drink......got very drunk!
