I'll start with UK Border Force and the Australian Customs version. I just cannot get enough of people trying to smuggle dodgy beef in their suitcases into Melbourne for no apparent reason, or illegal waiters denying all knowledge of their birthdays.

And on days off I can't miss Homes Under The Hammer, mainly for the inspired way they manage to find music to match anything that anyone says. Someone will paint a wall purple, and they'll play Purple Rain - it's genius.

Has anyone sunk lower?

In the early newborn days I watched loads of pregnancy/labour ones including:

Midwives - filmed in my hometown and featuring my midwife and health visitor

I didn't know I was pregnant - featuring really shit reenactments of women "unexpectedly" going into labour

Secretly pregnant - loads of adult women too scared to tell their parents they were pregnant til about 8 months

I've now started watching fashion police and loads of other shite on E!

DP watches storage wars, I make him watch it without me now as the incredibly thick couple really irritate me.

Hassled · 17/06/2013 18:45

So much crap telly, so little time.

I need to rediscover something I saw recently about Amish youth abandoning their faith and going wild in the city - that was quality crap.

Storage Wars (the original - the Texas version is shite)
Pawn Stars
American Restoration
Ax Men
Mountain Men

sheilatakeabow · 17/06/2013 20:14

I'm addicted to America's Next Top Model. I even perservere with the UK version despite Elle McPherson making me want to chew my own face off.

sonlypuppyfat · 17/06/2013 20:16

Homes under the Hammer is brill, so is The Barefoot Contessa

ARealDame · 17/06/2013 20:20

Yes, Sparkling, how could I forget Repo its fab, a laugh a minute, real no-BS characters out-on-the-road, your DH has got gt taste! p,s, you should try taping Millionaire Matchmaker, its pretty good. Sunday bonnet TV made me laugh. I honestly have no idea what they are talking about. Or why.

ARealDame · 17/06/2013 20:21

bonnet Sunday night drama, I mean.

BrennieGirl · 17/06/2013 21:11

I looove Hoarders. It makes me feel so normal.

alcibiades · 17/06/2013 21:11

I love watching Holmes Inspection. It's a Canadian show where Mike Holmes goes into houses that have mostly had an incompetent home inspection (survey), and finds loads of problems that weren't spotted ? usually some obvious scary electrics. There's usually structural issues, so they can do the knocking down and rebuilding of interior walls; and plumbing issues, so they can show us the sewer-cam. Most of the home owners have been ripped off by inspectors or incompetent builders, but Mike Holmes and his crew go in, tear out a whole load of stuff, and make it all better. Occasionally they bleep out what Mike says, but I don't know whether that's for the benefit of UK viewers or Canadians. Wink

It's a bit like DIY-SOS, without the silliness, but with a lot more information. I probably know more about Canadian building codes than I do of English ones. Grin

wheredidiputit · 17/06/2013 21:17

Alcibiades It also has much fitter men then DIY-SOS Grin.

Hassled · 17/06/2013 21:36

I'm enjoying the Greggs programme even though it is utterly pointless and largely seems to consist of lorries getting lost or stuck. And "I'm mad, me" characters. Have you ever seen a blue smartie on a Greggs cupcake? No? That's because the shop staff spend the day eating them, and this programme is the result.
