Iplayer downloads- do you need the Internet once they are downloaded?

Am stuck in hospital and need entertainment! Don't want to pay for the bedside Tv plus its not near my bed to watch. Was wondering if I get dh to download programmes I could watch them on the laptop.

No, you don't need Internet once they're downloaded. They are on your device when you've downloaded them.

No, but you do need the player which is also a free download. He'd have to take the laptop somewhere which had wifi access and then download the iplayer player itself. I don't know if you have to download the programmes themself through this as well, though.
