One the girls I did my TA basic training with hooked up with our regular Army corporal! 16 years later and they're happily married with 3 kids! An inappropriate start to their relationship but they were and are very happy together :)

Really enjoyable - great script. Makes a change for a BBC drama to leave you wanting more, usually they are overlong or start great and the ending x episodes later is crap.

DH born right in that area - said he couldn't believe the changes since he left.

Think she had a lucky escape - with friends (&dad) like that who needs enemies?

It comes across that way Boxer but it's not. You get used to it really quickly, have amazing experiences. I never laughed so much in my life as I did in Basic Training. 20 years on I am still in touch with people I was in Basic with.

didn't fancy this because it had someone from Eastenders in and I thought they were all crap actors - but himself was watching and I got interested. No doubt highly sanitised but still good stuff. Didn't really care if the character died or not but it showed that she had made something of herself.

one highlight for me was the best, most moving rendition that I have ever heard of 'In Flanders Fields'. Beautifully done by an uncredited David Ryall.

I thought this was a fantastic piece, I started crying at the reading and kept going till the end.
