Did anybody just see "The trouble with young people?" on BBC3?

I was quite interesting and in parts shocking,

but it really annoyed me because the only way to solve the problem of antisocial behaviour in young people Carole Malone could come up with was

"Bring back corporal punishment!"

Angry

I don't smack my children, never have, never will, but they certainly know about boundaries etc. and are extremely well-behaved. How did I manage that then...

I watched some of it. I was wondering how they get people to agree to go on there? Why set yourself up to have Carole Malone tell everyone your a cr*p parent?!

I found the step sisters sharing a spliff at the kitchen table the worst

I saw this and by the end was so annoyed I was in danger of going parp-crazy. Nobody would deny that weak parenting can produce poorly behaved young people but there is no way you can suddenly conclude from that that smacking is the answer.

Poorly researched and argued imo, though like Lact8 I found myself wondering why the featured parents agreed to be in this. If they're that daft, no wonder they don't have much idea how to bring up their kids.

Anyway, about a hundred points to be made on what Carole could have said or found out if she was really that interested but I suppose she's a tabloid columnist and can only consider issues in a tabloidesque way.

But I did love her unintentionally Brass-Eye-esque voiceover.
