Are they eating scrambled eggs with jam?

Spero · 19/03/2013 21:56

How is it leal to keep two pigs in such a tiny space? And what will the poor goat do? Those pigs will root everything up!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/03/2013 21:57

Yes, they are.

This is all so strange, think Tanya has a cherry tree farm ideal in her head...

RavenVonChaos · 19/03/2013 21:57

mmmm they didnt eat their scrambled egg before they were allowed bread and jam. bad parents.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/03/2013 21:57

Spero I didn't think they would be able to keep them in such a small space.

She's desperate to be seen as unconventional.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 19/03/2013 21:58

I don't think the animals are staying... Think it's a trial run!

NuhichNuhaymuh · 19/03/2013 21:59

Maybe she's worried bf will prevent another pregnancy happening quick enough

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/03/2013 21:59

Tracy seems a bit too try hard. Like one of those Mothers who would rather be friends with her kids and seem the same age.

OP posts:
Spero · 19/03/2013 21:59

It's not like I need to seem them any more than every couple of months' so she does have real life friends? But she doesn't think she will want to see them any more than 'every couple of months'.

This is sad.

Spero · 19/03/2013 22:00

O I see, it was the birthday present. I hope those poor pigs are going back.

NuhichNuhaymuh · 19/03/2013 22:01

She did say "see" though. Hopeful?

JazzAnnNonMouse · 19/03/2013 22:01

Do we reckon Tanya is on MN??

Viviennemary · 19/03/2013 22:17

The mother is certainly very odd. I'm not sure I approve of this kind of thing being used as entertainment.

morethanpotatoprints · 19/03/2013 22:17

I watched last week and thought the Sullivans were a lovely family.
I think the H.ed seems pretty effective too, the older ones helping the younger ones is brilliant. Quite often my ds's will come in and assist dd with something she is learning. Tanya also sounds as though she doesn't accept any rubbish from her comments last week.
I would like to think she will get her dream of the family living self sufficiently with their own land.
Personally, we are a more social family and dd is hardly ever in, has lots of schooled and H.ed friends. and probably does far too many activities. My dd is presently doing Maths? to come down after performing in a concert tonight. Grin

morethanpotatoprints · 19/03/2013 22:19

OMG, just seen last post. I am not Tanya.

Spero · 19/03/2013 22:36

How is home ed effective if the older ones are teaching the younger ones? Shouldn't the elder by being doing A levels? The elder ones must be doing a LOT of helping - there is no way a child minder could claim to be safely looking after all those children.

morethanpotatoprints · 19/03/2013 22:56

Spero.

I'm only going on what I saw last week as was out tonight.
The older children were supporting and helping the younger ones in the Sullivan family. Wasn't the older girl doing a child care course?
Many H.ed families don't follow the conventional route of education, some don't do GCSE's or A levels but alternative exams and courses.
All the variables, possibilities and advantages of H.ed are just becoming apparent to me now, my dd started this September.

Spero · 19/03/2013 23:09

Hmmm. You say 'supporting and helping' I see children being used as unpaid child care for the babies, at the expense of their own emotional and social development.

I have a friend who is one of 15. She was the first girl and says her memories of childhood are being a little mother to her younger siblings - she doesn't remember any kisses or hugs from her own mum who I assume was just too busy. She is in her 30s and her youngest sister is still only 11.

I just do not accept that anyone has the emotional resources to raise 12 children. Not unless you run a very tight ship and use your older children effectively as your employees.

twitchycurtains · 19/03/2013 23:09

if I can't have Tracey as a mum I would love her as a MIL, I know she seemed so full on and it would be annoying, but I would exchange her for MIL any day of the week and my mum. I think someone upthread mentioned the word controlling, and thats it, Tanya comes across as very very controlling.
