What are your top five favourites?

I'm expecting lots of North and Souths and the Firth P&P
Hoping I might find something new that's not so well known like bright star

I haven't got 5 but my two favourites are Brideshead and the Middlemarch from the mid 90s.

How did it start tunip? I enjoyed it too (thought Bingley was gooorgeous Grin) Great fun Grin

TunipTheVegedude · 07/04/2013 13:36

She finds a secret door in her bathroom which comes out in the Bennetts' attic.
As you do Grin

It was fun, not to be taken too seriously. Would love another one.
They could do a load with different people with different books

I love Lost in Austen.

Has anyone mentioned any Catherine Cookson's yet? Grin

ppeatfruit · 07/04/2013 13:44

Oh thanks tunip the door that was used at the end of the series? I assume that had its own powers. How or why did Lizzie get into 2013?

Zamboni · 07/04/2013 13:48

Lots that have been mentioned, especially Charles II and also Aristocrats.

TunipTheVegedude · 07/04/2013 13:48

Yes, the same door. Lizzie found the door from her end and went through it, and once she was there she was having far too much fun to want to come back.

EmpressMaud · 07/04/2013 13:52

Oh dear, Catherine Cookson! Grin

ppeatfruit · 07/04/2013 14:07

IMO C.C. is a bit miserable! anyone enjoy Goodnight Sweetheart ?I LOVE it!!!

EmpressMaud · 07/04/2013 15:34

Goodnight Sweetheart was one of my guilty likes, though I think it was at least 10 years ago or more since I watched it. The last episode was oddly touching with the choice to be made and the wallpaper, that will make sense to those who have seen (I hope).

MordecaiAndRigby · 07/04/2013 16:05

Again I really enjoyed Goodnight Sweetheart. Yet it sits uncomfortably with me now, should I really be entertained by the antics of some two timing cheat? Grin

ppeatfruit · 07/04/2013 17:58

It's being repeated on Gold in the week. It's only a story mordecai and in some ways quite ahead of its time with good parts for the leading womenGrin I must admit to knowing the authors!

MordecaiAndRigby · 07/04/2013 18:32

Oh I know that ppeat. It just makes me laugh, "so I have this idea for a hilarious new comedy... It's about a bloke cheating on his wife!" Grin

Still love it though. I wasn't even a teenager when it was first on TV so I grew up with it.
