Am not feeling so bad now as my 16 year old niece hasn't heard of Alt-J either and she likes all sorts of weird and wonderful American punk rock stuff...

I just don't get Mumford and sons. I dislike them immensely although they have done nothing to offend me, apart from play their music.

'Alt-J' aren't very American punky at all. They have a very quite a unique sound- a bit like 'Antony and the johnsons' vocalist.
