Oh, I loved that. Fingers crossed for a series.

Doogle2 · 19/02/2013 22:12

Mumsnet campaign for a series? Grin

Jux · 19/02/2013 22:15

DH watched it (I was far too busy, um, on MN) and has only just stopped telling me how brilliant it was. He was very taken by some of the people, enormously impressed by the manager and staff. Gobsmacked at the actors at the end, and he found the SN guy heart-breaking.

He says the level of poverty shown on the programme is shocking and he thinks Cameron should be forced to watch, it so he can see what real people and real life is really like, under DC's so benevolent government.

EmmaDale · 19/02/2013 22:21

I think that there should be a series. The Manager and staff were great, v hard working and patient. Some of the people did make me feel sad, others made me really laugh - it was v good.

Just watched this on catch-up, loved it. Reminded me of our local shop. Love a bit of chicken shop.

Think it was nice they showed all the different walks of life you get. Not too sure about the 'levels of poverty' though.

Nancy66 · 20/02/2013 11:41

There's no way that such a conveniently entertaining bunch of people all went into the chicken shop in one 24 hour period.

it started off ok but then just became too contrived - particularly when the drag act turned up at the end

PrincessLayer · 20/02/2013 11:49

I think it said at the beginning that it was actually filmed 24 hours a day, for a week.

I really enjoyed it.

ifancyashandy · 20/02/2013 22:17

It was indeed filmed over 7 days not 24 hrs.

Nancy66 · 21/02/2013 11:03

yes, I see that now. Although I understand the producer was luring people in with the promise of free food so - as I expected - it was not totally genuine.

getagoldtoof · 22/02/2013 21:32

I live near it. It's always busy. I have seen similar weird shit in my local chicken shop, I don't reckon it was contrived. Anyway, if you take 30 mins out of 7x24 hours, you're bound to be able to get some really good tv.
