After reading the Frasier thread I got to thinking, theres not one comedy on tv that I would go out of my way to watch. Nothing for the past few years really. Im not one for watching things more than once. I just cant do it. I will always make an exception for these three though.

Frasier
Curb your Enthusiasm
Father Ted

and, thats about it really. Im interested in what your favourites are and would you recommend them to me?

Sorry for the spelling. Ive just done five nights and dont know whether Im coming or going. I do know that I need to pop out and get wine before Tescos closes though. Looking forward to some proper laughs tonight when I cant sleep.

Frasier
Northern Exposure
The Thick of it

(also love Will and Grace)

Nostalgia: Blackadder
Wit: Think of It
Belly laughs: Modern family

With an honourable soft spot mention to Flight of the Concords.

I would recommend 30 Rock to you and Community is brilliant too. Arrested development is good.

ZolaBuddleia · 11/02/2013 12:33

30 Rock
Girls (although is it strictly a comedy?)
Friends (although have probably overdosed on it by now)

KirstyoffEastenders · 11/02/2013 12:38

The Office
Spaced
Father Ted

(Very difficult to just have 3, I'd like to include all of these too:- TTOI, Curb, Seinfled, Extras, Nighty Night, League of Gentlemen, Peep Show, Bottom, 15 Storeys High, etc etc).

LoonyRationalist · 11/02/2013 12:39

Spaced
Father ted
Blackadder

Am really struggling to think of any recent comedy that even comes close to these. I do enjoy Miranda but it isn't close to matching up.

guineapiglet · 11/02/2013 12:40

My kids' choice ( they loved being asked!):
The IT crowd
Father Ted ( even tho' it is very rude!)
Blackadder ( vs Fawlty Towers... still arguing about it!)
... and now Dad's Army has been mentioned.....

Mine
The Big Bang Theory
Cheers
am I allowed Morecambe and Wise ( because I am vair old!)

guineapiglet · 11/02/2013 12:41

Ps I am still arguing with myself.
May have to replace Cheers with Red Dwarf.......

Lottapianos · 11/02/2013 12:44

Mrs Brown's Boys

JOKING!!!!!! Grin

Real list is:
Friends
The Thick of It
Frasier

(absolutely love Third Rock from the Sun too)

lizzypuffs · 11/02/2013 12:45

The Thick of It
Black Adder
Vicar of Dibley

StickyProblem · 11/02/2013 15:59

DP and I talk for hours about this. The biggest debate is - is something that was on for loads of episodes better than something that only has a few, because you get more enjoyment out of it?

Alan Partridge (all of them)
The Office (US)
Father Ted

I love Big Bang Theory and I do like 2 Broke Girls although roll my eyes at some of the rude bits.

MechanicalTheatre · 11/02/2013 16:05

Nathan Barley
The Thick of It
Father Ted

MortifiedAdams · 11/02/2013 16:07

The IT Crowd
Big Bang Theory
Spaced

Mrs Browns Boys can take a long walk off a short cliff imo.
