I was actually going to ask if anybody would be able to record this for me.
It sort of hits a nerve as by the looks of it my baby has a genetic condition.
I can't record BBC 4 though, and I'm going out so can't watch it.

Isn't that the "scientific" name for thrush?

There is someone who works on Hollyoaks (don't ask me how I know this) called Candida Boyes which made me rofl!!

as DH is being late and drunken I might get to watch it I could try to record it emkana but have never done it before! Will report back..

I managed to tape all but the first 15 minutes. I will CAT you emkana- there was a bit of ghastliness from a professor of law, but it was mostly families' stories. Tom Shakespeare was on it, and I think the ending part would help you.

thought most of it was fairly alright but tbh for me it was the first 15 minutes that were the most horrifying. I missed the first 5 minutes, but basically the first family had a child with something called "invisible x"? (apologies if I got it wrong). They were told that there was a 50% chance of subsequent children having the condition, but there was a prenatal test available for the condition. So they continued to get pregnant and have the babies tested at 13 weeks, and if the condition was present they terminated the pregnancies. She had two terminations during the course of the programme, and although she said it was very painful, she indicated that she basically would want to keep getting pregnant and terminating until she had a healthy baby. They did name and have funerals for the terminated fetuses. Now I can totally understand and sympathise with someone who finds out their baby has a genetic condition and decides to terminate a pregnancy on that basis, I imagine that must be the most painful thing in the world, but to terminate pregnancy after pregnancy? I could understand her terminating one pregnancy, but tbh I got the impression she would terminate 10 pregnancies if it came to that.
