She is a bit of fresh air after all those apprentice types Smile

Are you enjoying it?

DH is a dairyman, nice to have some recognition.

Really enjoying it, we have farms that we used to farm in hand but now rent out, I had a favourite cow when I was working on the dairy, we have kept the sheep (sorry gentleman farmers here) and the shepherd and still do some youngstock. I love lambing, hard work but rewarding. And avoiding the shit in the parlour. My year pre college coincided with the onset of BSE.

Dairy farms seem to be closing around here quite rapidly though Sad

size is everything. And like they said, you need a lot of money behind you.

It's certainly not romantic.

DH was at college during the BSE.

His folks probably would have found a different uni course for him if it had happened before...

Oh I missed this tonight.I watched the first one.I can understand how some of them felt last week with not being sure whether they wanted to work the farm or not.It is a decision I'll most likely have to make in the future and I don't want to be a farmer, but if I choose not to there will be repercussions for the present and future generations in more than one family. I've gotten used to an easy life now I suppose.
