It reminded me what a superb actor David Tennant is.

i havent managed to watch it yet

after seeing my name, people keep telling me to watch it Grin

KayHarker · 17/01/2013 14:58

I was watching, but Dh was downstairs and said "David Tennant's on the telly having sex again. Turn it over!" which I was ok with. Don't know if he actually had sex or not, but I was enoying all the intrigue and the Tennant english accent

Oh there were some very artistic scenes of DT with few clothes on! "fans self " Beautifully lit they were!!!

LittleAbruzzenBear · 17/01/2013 17:08

Grin he was beautifully lit. My heart nearly stopped near the end with the train (don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen both episodes).

I luffs DT. Fab actor and person.

A real hidden gem. Why it was binned on BBC4 I don't know.

Well worth watching.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 19/01/2013 15:02

I agree cold. I would like more of this kind of television, especially on a Saturday night. I just looked at the schedule for tonight and it's awful. I should think DH and I will end up watching a dvd.

Yes, I ended up watching it on iplayer in the end, two episodes, about 3 hours in total, completely forgot it was on......

Read the book, and loved it, and thought this was a really good adaptation of it, very atmospheric and wonderful costumes, sets and photography, DT was really convincing. All the reviews declared it a bit plodding, and dialogue slow, but I didnt find it so, would watch again.

coldinthesun · 19/01/2013 20:41

It was a bit plodding, but thats how it should have been. The tempo was right for the story. Too fast and it would have felt rushed.

In the end, I was left wanting more not wishing it would end.

im saving part 2 for tomorrow

going to kick dh upstairs so i'll have some peace Grin

There is another Stephen Poliakoff programme coming on BBC2 in February 'Dancing on the Edge' that looks good too. Sadly, no David Tennant, but Matthew Goode is in it. Janet Montgomery, the beautiful girl who played Anna in Spies, is in it though.
