Not that I would say anything to her face in case she shot me or broke my neck.

I can't watch her. She's still that bird from H&A. What happened to Dieter Brummer though?

Dieter Brummer just got deaded in Neighbours. He was a bad'un.

It was the dialogue that killed me. Itw as cliche after cliche followed by obvious plot point. The bit where Pouty Chops and Old Blue eyes were in her bedsit made my bum cringe.

OBE: So, you thought it was me? That I would kill the mother of my baby?
PC:
OBE: That's right. I know every inch of you

It was actually a bit like when Joey in 'Friends' was Dr. Drake Ramoray.

It was cliche bingo.

Oh thanks! I'm surprised the best he could do was end up in Neighbours though.

He was alright back then.

Why are there only about 15 actors in Australia anyway?

He's not as pretty, now, Ed. There are very few pretty actors in Neighbours now :(

Moodily. Not moddily. He wasn't on a scooter sporting a Paul Weller haircut.

See now you've said that, in my mind, he WAS on a scooter with a Paul Weller haircut.

I can't shake it now. Grin

I wondered if he needed the poor chap's retina for ID purposes? Or maybe he was just bad to the bone? How many of the back up team do you think will be pitilessly slaughtered by series end?

I'm going for at least 80%. Wee tech info woman and new recruit specialist forces guy have Dead Meat running through them like a stick of rock.

I don't trust new special forces guy. Bet he's a bad 'un.

The washed out colour annoyed me immensely. Did they only have cheap cameras?

cocolepew · 05/10/2012 16:39

I never realised it was supposed to be like that. I was thinking a bit of blusher wouldn't go amiss.

I think i's meant to be arty or something. It also annoyed me with that Kenneth Brannagh thing... Wallander

it's the nordic style... they arse about with the grading in post-production. it's supposed to look physically and emotionally chilly, which is why they rarely show these things in summer.

I've just watched this and quite enjoyed it, which was a bit of a surprise as I don't watch much TV these days apart from documentaries.

This may be significant (or not) but the creator of the show, Frank Spotnitz, was one of the senior writers on X-Files, and I've read elsewhere that he originally wrote it with Gillian Anderson (Agent Scully) in mind for the lead part. That might explain the poutiness because that was often the look that Anderson had when Scully was pissed off. But, I've never watched anything that Melissa George was in before, so I don't know whether poutiness is part of her acting style.

I did think that some of the washed out colouring was reminiscent of X-Files in the early seasons when they were filming in Vancouver. I guess if it's a bleak story then bright sunshine doesn't really work too well.

I wish they'd stop with the "nordic style". It's why I ditched Wallender and why I doubt I'll be carrying on with Hunted. It is unnecessarily grim and depressing and I find it distracting - the unrealistic lighting effects spoil it for me.

it's montalbano you're after, clearly... Grin

the nordic thing is a big trend, still, but it will pass.

I could have bloody slapped her pouty lentil-weaving-weird-ass-face in EVERY episode of The Slap and her husband and child too

I haven't watched this new series yet. When they interviewed her on BBC Breakfast she managed to act less pouty and pretty normal. Should I bother watching it? Or just delete it??

i thought the eye thing might be so it didnt leave any traces - injecting into a hole (pupil)

but could just have watched too many spy programmes.

just watched it now, rather enjoyed it - its all very silly but i didnt let that stop me!

do we think her lips are natural or has she had some work to make them that pouty? from the side her top lip really sticks out.....i reckon she has had fillers.
