Just watching it now, Pam is great! Waiting to see what happens with Tara!

steben · 18/09/2012 20:32

Just watched thank god Eric is back on the screens Grin

Series 5 looking good so far....

Chocolatemakesmefat · 19/09/2012 10:51

Watched this last night along with the season re cap bloody brilliant! Loved Pam in her Walmart sweater, there is just the right amount of underlying humour.

And Eric is Sooooo mine Grin

IloveJudgeJudy · 19/09/2012 11:57

I've seen season 5 already and just want to say, to tickle your fancies, that I have always been a Bill's girl right until the end of Season 5, but now I'm not sure!

Piggychunk · 19/09/2012 13:37

Loved it too can't wait for next episode :)

susiedaisy · 19/09/2012 13:50

JudgeJudy stop teasing us!!Smile

wintera · 19/09/2012 13:54

Am I the only one who has gone right off it? It was always over the top but now its just plain ridiculous!

steben · 19/09/2012 14:47

But Wintera surely that is part of the appeal?!

Oooo loved that teaser comment I not sure I could possibly like him more! Wink

Jahan · 19/09/2012 14:57

I watched it last night.

What a fab episode. I love it. Pam is great.
I think we're really spoiled with all the sexy men on there but my favourite is the damn hot Alcide. Hope he takes his shirt off lots this season Grin

susiedaisy · 19/09/2012 15:10

I did balk at the wolf mother eating her dead sons genitals!

wintera · 19/09/2012 17:04

Yeah agree that wolf eating bit was gross. I just think its too far over the top these days I'm afraid, its becoming a bit of a joke now.

Wasn't that maid Marion from BBC's robin hood that Eric was taking from behind? She never got up to that with robin!!

susiedaisy · 19/09/2012 18:35

I'm going to stick with it for now although I'm wondering what layfatte (spelling ?) and Tara are going to do all season!

Eggrules · 19/09/2012 18:40

The books are way more ridiculous, plenty more scope.

Lots more OTT situations, sex and violence.

I thought mummy wolf was eating her son's entrails (and won't be shaken from this)

HumphreyCobbler · 19/09/2012 20:32

the books are dire tbh

the tv series is funny, full of incredibly hot blokes who are often naked, has some entertaining characters and has the best title sequence in the history of television. It doesn't exactly expect you to take it seriously. What is not to like?

Eggrules · 20/09/2012 09:25

Each to their own with regard to the books; perfect holiday porridge imho. I read more than 250 books last year (kindle lover) and a bit of nonsense does me good.

The series is based on a general Sookieverse. I like that anyone can die/live.

HumphreyCobbler · 20/09/2012 12:18

I must point out that although I think the books are crap I still read the whole lot Grin

Eggrules · 20/09/2012 14:51

Me too Grin In fact I read the entire series when I went on holiday earlier in the year.

The last one, Dead Ever After: A True Blood Novel by Charlaine Harris and Johanna Parker isn't on Kindle yet and I am too tight to pay for it.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 21/09/2012 09:56

Dead Ever After isn't out at all yet, is it? It's supposed to be the last one of the series and so have some sort of conclusion to it. We can but hope.

Grin at holiday porridge. I just keep telling myself it's not as embarrassing as reading Twilight.

I'm watching season 5 on Blinkbox at £2 per episode. Worked out cheaper than the £26 per month it would've been to upgrade my cable package to include FX, but means I don't get it till Tuesdays.

"Friend of yours?"
"It's my sister actually."
Grin

maythe4thbewithyou · 21/09/2012 12:28

I've seen the whole season. I live abroad, and each episode was aired here four days after it was in the states. It got mixed reviews but I thought it was great. It ends on a huge cliffhanger, can't believe I've got to wait till next year to find out what happens!

Slatternismymiddlename · 21/09/2012 12:45

I just watched the first one of season 5. Lots of lovely Eric action but was a little bit surprised at exactly how quickly he was over Sookie. Jessica is great but not sure how the Jason thing is going to progress. Alicide doesn't have to say anything, just stand there and look hot.

Eggrules · 21/09/2012 12:52

You are right Boulevard. Dead Ever After is due out May 2013.

I have read the Twilight series and The Host - on my kindle (obviously)

Best line for S5E1 was from Pam ' use your magic hands and super snatch' [to influence Eric].

Eric does seem to have moved on rather quickly. Can't wait to see what happens.

susiedaisy · 21/09/2012 13:05

What is this Dead Ever After that you speak of? Smile

ArtfulAardvark · 21/09/2012 13:24

I laughed at the Walmart tracksuit and the "super snatch" comment, Pam in the books was always really funny so hopefully we will get more of that.

I think we will have to agree to share Alcide wink - still love Bill though!

Eggrules · 21/09/2012 13:36

Dead Ever After is the last book in the Sookie Stackhouse series (book 13)

Pam is funnier in the books, I also like her friendship with Sookie.

ArtfulAardvark · 21/09/2012 14:46

I think Charlaine lost interest in the books some time ago. I think it must be hard for a writer when their readers have such STRONG opinions on where the story should go.
