No merlin fans out there then? Eagerly anticipating series 5! Can never take my eyes off sir percivals arms!

I think the producers have got the message, Ship, seeing as the amount of semi nekkidness has risen exponentially since series 1.

Gwen was pretty awesome, I thought. She didn't get much to do in the last series, so I was pleased they have remedied that. But I can't help thinking she must be cold in all those low cut dresses in a draughty castle, although she does look fabulous in them. I'm always worried about how cold people must be in this show!

BigBroomstickBIWI · 15/10/2012 09:12

They did look really cold in that outside/snow scene, didn't they?! I wondered how much redder Merlin's ears could get!

beujolais · 15/10/2012 11:17

Ican't believe morgana is still alive! Doesn't she raise uther from the dead next week? cannot wait to see that. Ooh percival makes my knees weak!

Two things I noted, one was did they slap Merlin about the head a lot to make his ears that red and two even in a costume change Arthur had armour and Merlin none, I know he;s the king but c'mon!

the dragon was confusing, I thought the big dragon took the little dragon away when it hatched and it can't be another dragon because it was the last dragon egg and how did Morgana know the dragon's name. Has the word dragon lost all meaning to you yet?

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 15/10/2012 17:53

Hope you're right scare Wink

hattymattie · 15/10/2012 20:05

I think I can see the influence of Game of Thrones here - mainly in the snow and more forboding atmosphere - (or maybe it's just in my head).

Macchiato · 15/10/2012 20:06

Just saw the ad with ghost Uther... SO excited

ScarePhyllis · 15/10/2012 20:17

The little dragon goes off with the big dragon after it hatches, but then it turned up again at the very end of the last series, when it healed Morgana's wounds (She Who Will Not Die). So as a couple of years are supposed to have passed between the series I think we are meant to assume the little dragon has been hanging out with Morgana in the meantime.

The TVTropes recap is funny - it points out that Gwen is already the most competent royal ever on the show. Within the space of one episode she figures out who the traitor is, comes up with a plan to deal with the situation, and carries it out. Unlike Uther and Arthur, who appear to have their memory wiped at the end of any episode where it's hinted there might be a traitor in Camelot ...

beujolais · 15/10/2012 22:08

I hope the little dragon is released from morganas clutches. I so can't wait to see what happens when uther comes back. This show just keeps getting better!

I'll be watching this a bit later.

I really think they should re-think Gwen's and Morgana's dresses. There's far too much cleavage on show which is Not On At All.

Looking forward to seeing the pretty brave knights being pretty brave and half nekkid whilst brandishing their weapons. Grin

Llareggub · 20/10/2012 21:57

Disappointing. No half-naked fighting tonight, just a very scary apparition. Might not watch again with DS, it was a bit scarier than usual.

2rebecca · 20/10/2012 22:00

Glad this week wasn't just "Arthur and Merlin fight Morgana" yet again, although the chasing ghosts in creepy corridoors dragged on a bit.

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2012 22:11

I do like it when Merlin uses magic and gets a bit ... can't think of the right word ... tough? cross? Dunno. Anyway, loved it when he revealed his magic to Uther!

lljkk · 21/10/2012 09:34

Me & DSs were hiding under blankets last night (wimps). "I don't mind being scared!!" declared 4yo DS.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 22/10/2012 13:32

lljkk my 4yo DS loves this too. Arthur is his favourite because 'he fights and is cool with his sword'. Can't argue with that. DS yesterday morning (we record Merlin so DS doesn't miss it) 'Mummy, Merlin is your favourite and Gwain makes you smile funny.....Daddy, Daddy, do you know that Mummy likes the knights?'.

beujolais · 22/10/2012 17:41

Hahaha, yes there was a distinct lack of sweaty ripped bodies this week, still got a lingering glimpse of percys arms, yum. Was creepy, uther's even more of a badass when dead! I was on the edge of my seat when uther was about to reveal merlins secret, talk about a close shave!

ScarePhyllis · 22/10/2012 22:27

lljkk and Little Grin

I think we are going to have lots of almost-reveal moments this series, possibly building up to a big reveal with Arthur finding out?

lljkk · 03/11/2012 21:40

Oh, I am throwing in the towel. Will not watch any more. Sadly, seriously.

Honestly, how stupid can Merlin & Arthur get? Couldn't Merlin see this was the Golden Opportunity? Meanwhile, The old Biddies told Arthur that he would save Camelot, AND Arthur thought he would save Mordred, if he said yes to the old religion, what wasn't to like? I mean Merlin has always been full of plot holes, but how did Arthur think he was saving Camelot when the old Broads firmly told him he was condemning Camelot by saying No? Confused

And anyway, Arthur is doomed now, isn't he?

2rebecca · 03/11/2012 22:55

Agree, made Merlin look very superficial if he put Arthur over saving Camelot and his religion, esp as the women said Arthur could only be saved through them, why believe the dragon over them anyway if they're supposed to be the head honchos?
Hope they kill Gwen next week but sadly lady superdrip will probably survive. Not surprised Arthur's so keen to go out fighting with her at home. Are fiesty women only allowed to be baddies? Guinevere in the legends was a much more interesting character.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 04/11/2012 19:35

I must admit, I thought Gwen was going to toughen up this series. I have to keep watching because of Gwain as DS likes it. Isn't super-fit Lancelot meant to return and clear off with Gwen? I do luffs Merlin, even if he is a tad daft sometimes.

fruityoatybrains · 10/11/2012 21:12

No one watching tonight? I loved this episode. Very dark. Made me jump a few times!

LetUsPrey · 10/11/2012 21:17

Part way through it. The knights are almost at the dark tower.

2rebecca · 10/11/2012 21:51

Boring, I hate the Arthur v Morgana episodes which is nearly all of them recently. Vary the script a bit writers, use your imagination. If they kill off the sickening saintly gwen I'll be happy though. Looks like they are turning her into an evil troll although i suspect she'll be returned to boring "niceness" soon enough. Why aren't any of the women allowed to be funny? They are either evil or saintly.
It's never very believable that merlin is more powerful than morgana, her magic is much more interesting. He just stops things hitting people and send people flying backwards.
