I am rooting for 'Digger' Dean. I think he is doing brilliantly. Those 'Faberge' egg things he did last night looked brilliant (wouldn't want to eat one though - yuck!!) Could be because he is quite good looking though!! Although not sure about his mouth when he smiles - if he kept it shut I wouldn't kick him out of bed!! Grin

RTKangaMummy · 17/03/2006 18:38

NOT PETER PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RTKangaMummy · 17/03/2006 18:38

I HOPE PETER HAS A USELESS SAUCE

RTKangaMummy · 17/03/2006 18:43

IF DASHKA DOES A GOOD MEAL THEN IMHO SHE SHOULD WIN

PETER IS JUST PLAYING SAFE

HE SHOULD TRY INDIAN FOOD

RTKangaMummy · 17/03/2006 18:51

Oh nooooooooooooooooooooo

it wasn't cooked Sad

RTKangaMummy · 17/03/2006 18:53

Peter's smirk when it was cut

RTKangaMummy · 17/03/2006 18:57

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Amanda1 · 17/03/2006 19:31

What a farce. Peter never delivered on time, didn't cope under pressure and only stayed safe all the time and he wins? Joke or what. My dd will be gutted that Dean didn't win. He had promise, good skills and ambition. Farce. Farce. Farce.

zippitippitoes · 17/03/2006 19:45

I think they are just unable to mentally process anything beyond the last meal of the contestants....but daskia can open her Indian restaurant with the occasional euporpean evening, dean will have the pick of trainee jobs..Peter opening arestaurant ever without the necessary experience or even picking up a trainee post would be ridiiculous buit he's not going to be a Michelin chef ever is he?

RedZuleika · 17/03/2006 20:20

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Have just watched it recorded from earlier.

How could they???

Bomper · 17/03/2006 20:44

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! What a total farce!!! What was the point of all they did in the past week, if it all came down to was that one meal?! Peter was crap most of the week, Dean was ALWAYS competent, calm and delivered the goods in the professional kitchens, and the other professional chefs always said the would employ him in a flash. WTF, it must have been a fix!!!

howhow did that happen (just watched tape) it is an OUTRAGE that skiving man Angry gah i am really pissed off.

Patttsy · 17/03/2006 20:55

Oh Dear:(

TwoIfBySea · 17/03/2006 20:56

So that is two Masterchef Goes Large "winners" now and both times the least deserving won!

What is the point of dragging out the finals for weeks when all it comes down to is one meal? I guess they enjoyed Peter's sweaty food!

Poor, poor Dean, I really hope this doesn't put him off as he was brilliant throughout. Anyone else think that if Peter had been asked to cook Daksha's kind of food it would have been inedible? Also, I had noticed that when others were relying on him he was late, making their food late, inconsistent and sloppy. He managed to get rid of Becky that way, I guess that is how you win in this.

Worse is I'll have to avoid the Good Food magaaine for a couple of issues again because ol' sweaty will be in it! I'm off to have a moan on the BBC website!

merryberry · 17/03/2006 21:37

I'll join you. He was so uninspiring. Am less likely to watch next year's series now. Have no faith in the sense of the challenges or the judges discernment.

I missed the TV challenge they had last year, I thought that was fun.

TwoIfBySea · 17/03/2006 21:58

Went onto the BBC Food forum and it is all kicking off there.

Seems everyone expected Dean to win, maybe Daksha, but definitely not Peter!!!

They are trying to get everyone to contact the site to complain about the decision and get the judges removed for next year!

Thomcat · 17/03/2006 22:03

My mum knows Daksha. She did all the food for my mums 60th b.day party and it was FAB.

RedZuleika · 17/03/2006 22:14

She seemed a really good cook, but her temperament was not necessarily compatible with working in a professional kitchen, taking orders from others, I thought.

What was she doing with that partridge though?? I've pan-fried partridge and the recipe said 10-15 minutes top and bottom (i.e. 20-30 minutes in total). She cooked it for half that - but still it looked less done than one might have expected.

Wouldn't you practise dishes before the big cook off...?

MrsMuddle · 17/03/2006 23:27

ARGHHHHH... I'm in Scotland and we don't see the final till tomorrow night (gaelic programmes on on on Tuesday night, but now I know who wins! Wish I hadn't opened this thread. Sad

TwoIfBySea · 18/03/2006 17:03

Mrs Muddle, I watched it on the digital English channels. I hate that we get papped off with gaelic programmes for the 3 people who actually speak it!

At least you can sit and watch all the points made, such as the smirk when Daksha's meal goes wrong and see what an arrogant swine Peter is!

On the BBC forums both Dean's dad and Peter's step-daughter have been on.

Anyone else now thinking the sickie on the QE2 was faked? After he cocked up the poached eggs he then suddenly falls ill and just as quick recuperates. There is a website now for Dean to win!

TwoIfBySea · 18/03/2006 17:51

\link{http://www.deanformasterchef.co.uk/index.html\Wow!} People are getting really angry!

Peter may just have to emigrate (love the comment that if he opens a place he'll need a note on the wall suggesting customers pop next door to the pub for a couple of pints and a game of snooker between courses. And bring your own sauce.)

spacedonkey · 18/03/2006 18:23

Haven't read the rest of this thread, so sorry if I'm missing the plot here, but I was SO disappointed and surprised that Peter won ... I wanted Dean to win, but think Daksha is great too. Peter = pompous berk.

Grrr.

red37 · 18/03/2006 18:26

ShockI so wanted dean to win.
Argh Missed it

binker · 19/03/2006 12:18
