The owner's name (nickname, I hope) is Muff The narrator seems to be taking every opportunity to use her name.

I have to admit, I'm sniggering Especially when her employee said about the bar "This is where people expect to find Muff"

There's a town in Ireland (Co Donegal) called Muff. Three local diving club is legendary

There is a chain of petrol stations in Ireland called Top. There is also a facility for businesses to 'sponsor ' (i.e. advertise) roundabouts so there was a roundabout in nearby Derry with a big sign on it saying Top Muff . Never failed to raise a snigger
