all of you, who like it, what other things do you like (so I can see if your taste is similar to mine!)

Find most tv Pretty underwhelming but breaking bad is excellent.

Vivalabeaver.......well tastes are very different, I have a lovely friend who thinks the film Drive is boring, lovely she is but she doesn't have very refined taste when it comes to art or films in my opinion.
There is every possibility that I will find what you rate highly shit......very likely if you did not persevere with bb beyond episode 1. Give me an example just to humor me........
Everyone goes gaga over Dexter but I think it pretty predictable like murder she wrote for the 2010 s....or scooby doo for grown ups. I don't actually say that to people who rave about it of course in rl.

Each to their own, people raved over lots of things I think are crap.

Oh my god, latest episode ***tingly. its getting good.

Viva, I found the first episode quite slow, but persevered. I would never have thought it my taste at all, but I'm surprised at how watchable I've found it.

Chandon - Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire. Both recommended by the same person who recommended Breaking Bad, and quite accurate I'd say. Also period dramas.

Brighteyed, agree about the latest episode. It was so well done too.

Stuff I like,

Lost

West wing
House
6 feet under

Stuff I haven't liked

The wire
Dexter
Breaking bad. (only watched pilot)

I didn't persevere with it beyond the pilot as I'd have had to have bought the box set. The pilot btw is free on iTunes. Didn't fancy buying the box set if I didn't like the pilot. If it had been on tv maybe I'd have tried the next episode.

I stuck with The Wire through 6 long episodes before admitting defeat!

I found boardwalk and mad men very dull.

Another fan here. About halfway through S2 and love it.

Makes me think what I could have done with my chemistry degree..... Grin

Just bought S3 this afternoon - waiting for DH to finish night shifts so we can watch it together.
It is one of the best series around at the moment imo.

Well never buy anything....but if you get a chance to see it Viva I think you will surprise yourself.......it is compelling stuff and morally interesting and not obvious in the way so much tv is.
We have the wire box set via my ds work but have yet to watch.....everyone raves about it.

I think Breaking Bad is one of the best TV programmes I've seen. I like how it isn't black and white in terms of good and bad.

Pitmountainpony, it's surprising you don't like Dexter. Going by posts on here and digital spy, usually if people like one they like the other.

Chandon, the other programme I'd recommend is Oz. Though it is pretty violent in places.

Love it. We're watching on Netflix and are near the end of season 2 now. I have such sympathy for Jesse, and Walt is an arse imo.

The rest of the series really improves after the pilot episode. I think a lot of tv series are like that though, 30 Rock is another one.

Breaking Bad is very addictive so be prepared to lose hours of your life to it Grin

Am now onto episode 4 of season 3 - it is sooo good. Woke up this morning thinking about the last episode and wanting to watch the next one but dh was at work so have to wait for him to get home...

It's one of those series where you want to watch it all in one go, but have to pace yourself as you know you'll be gutted when you get to the end!

Maybe I'll download the next episode and give it a it more then!

Best. Show. Ever.

The final episode of S4 is the best piece of TV that I have ever witnessed. Enjoy!! We have just started on S5 - the last one

Yes yes yes. Best series since Sopranos.
It is exceptionally well written and well acted.
Be prepared to become obsessed!

I am counting the days till I can catch the last 8 episodes and have to wait a year

I ahem love it. I love the way the characters evolve. And I love ding ding. Long wait for the second half of the last season now, so if you do watch it pace yourself.
