Can be a recent one, or one from 25 years ago.

Just curious what everyones favourite story line(s) are.

Also, which storylines were your least favourite?

Favourites: who shot Phil, Mark Fowler with his HIV, Alfie/Spencer/Nana (not just because I fancieed Spencer, oh no that was just a sidenote), Sonia having her baby Rebecca then getting her adopted then getting her again.

Least favourite: Kat and Zoe although interesting was very weird and dealt with pretty funny or so it seemed to me but I was about 10/11 then (besides, Harry freaked me out and having to have my Mum explain what rape was in a roundabout way was horrible good thing she did though, it helped me in later life), Whose Georges Father (pretty pointless IMHO), Whose Kat Bumping Uglies With (because who cares now, she gets about... Funnily enough she has got about yet not with many people on the Square, the polar opposite of Jack... Perhaps a clue there?)

Also the Whitney and Tony storyline and the baby swap storyline were interesting and heartbreaking for me, but were also very interesting so I had mixed feelings about these. Having said that with the babyswap storyline I had friends with young kids, not my own. So although it wasn't directly effecting me, it still kind of broke my heart. Although whilst Whitney was having to deal with Tony, I actually made a report about my ex and how he acted inappropriately and had inappropriate images on his computer/was dating a 15 year old... So that felt a bit too real which explains why I cried.

Sooo wow that was long for an introduction. So what are yours? :)

I liked the Lucas storyline, the mad doctor (was she called May?), and the baby swap. I think I enjoy the ones that are dramatic but too ridiculous to be upsetting.

I'm bored of the who-shagged-kat storyline already.

LordOfThe5Rings · 17/08/2012 21:57

Yeah, who Kat is bonking is no interest to me either.

Ah yes the Lucas storyline was pretty odd but intense! Yeah she was called May, what a nutter!

I have watched it solidly since 1999.

Does anyone remember when Ian was shot. I was in labour at the time , can't even remember why he was shot or who did it.

I found the Trevor and Mo storyline compelling. Scary Trevor. (It was Trevor wasn't it, or am I getting mixed up with Brookie)

griphook · 17/08/2012 23:40

I liked the Tiffany and grant story line with tif being killed by frank.

Also thought the little mo and Trevor story line was very interesting. I also like the consistency of June slater and how she has coped with her illness rather than she just got better and it was all forgotten.

Also liked the phil/Sharon/kathy storylines. And when Bianca had a termination, that was heartbreaking.

Pointless storylines. Anything thing with Kat, really what is the point of her!

What really pisses me of is when they just change a characters personality over night. Take Jim for example, wouldn't even have Alan in the house cos he was black and then a bit later he's best mates with Patrick with no mention of the racisim, it's like the script writers forgot that bit.

Complete pointless story line of Phils daughter coming back what was the point.

griphook · 17/08/2012 23:44

Definitely Trevor. Although the man under the patio in brookside I think was a Trevor aswell.

I remember Ian being shot. I think cinder shot him, and it might have been to do with getting custordy of the children although could be wrong.

I will get my own life one day

perceptionreality · 17/08/2012 23:45

Who is Phil's daughter?

griphook · 17/08/2012 23:45

Maybe cindy

perceptionreality · 17/08/2012 23:46

The actress who plays Janine is brilliant - I always thought she was but her pain over Michael and feeling so vulnerable as a new mother is very believable.

griphook · 17/08/2012 23:47

Louise, her mum had curly hair and was friends with mark then married him. But can't remember her name. Louise came back a few years back and wouldn't let her go back to her mum and do Peggy took her in the end

HildaHotPants · 17/08/2012 23:49

I remember Ian doing a bit of a stint with prostitutes.

The punk Mary storyline was a good one too, when she was on drugs and trying to bring up a child.

Pauline used to drive me mad, miserable bitch (RIP though)

Oh and Nick 'Hello Ma' Cotton - grisly character

griphook · 17/08/2012 23:50

I could never work janine out. Whether she was bad or just miss understood? Because she's always loved her brother yet watched baz die

Love her in her new role as a mum and she plays it very well

LordOfThe5Rings · 18/08/2012 02:28

Ah yes loved Little Mo and Trevour though v disturbing at 11 ( which I was at the time I think ).

Yes always found that odd about Jim.

Louise's mum was Lisa.

Cindy hired a hitman to shot Ian. Didn't do such a great job, hope she got her money back!

justtryingtodomybest · 18/08/2012 05:09

When Michelle got pregnant (really showing my age now) and you didn't know who the father was. I thought that was really clever - she'd be on the phone and then you'd see all the possibles also talking on the phone.
I think they're trying to copy that slightly with Kat but it isn't really working.

gregssausageroll · 18/08/2012 09:57

Trevor I think for me. The worst was the baby swap. Only just getting back into it after switching off for that.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/08/2012 11:04

All the Christmas storylines Grin.
The poor souls never have a Happy Christmas do they?

And one year they were having Christmas Dinner in the bar (Peggy always did it upstairs) IIRC it was the year Zoe was told to lie about being pg to stop Dennis and Sharon going off.

I kept thinking how filthy the pub carpet must be and I wouldn't want to eat dinner there Blush .Totally mind off the plot emoticon.

And when Sam Mitchell (not the Daniella Westbrook, version.Kim somebody- much better actress) was married to Andy .He locked her out, took her rings then helped himself to a slice of cake. Shock. On Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/08/2012 11:07

Lisa (mum of Louise) had such a wingey, whiney voice I had to mute her.

"My baaaaaayybeeeee. Give me my baaaayybbeeeee"
She's 4 FFS.

HildaHotPants · 18/08/2012 11:57

Yes, the baby swap was very very upsetting. I joined the campaign to pull it. Still watched the show though, but wasn't any less affected than those that didn't.

ringos · 18/08/2012 12:06

Grant and Sharon and Phil.

When Grant listened to the tape of Sharon confessing to the affair with Phil in his car.............. then going into the pub and playing the tape on the loud speakers for everyone to hear.

Groovee · 18/08/2012 12:16

The one where Phil and Ian went camping and it was like a carry on film.

gregssausageroll · 18/08/2012 12:18

Dot and Ethel when dot helped Ethel to take an overdose.

rezzle · 18/08/2012 14:10

Recently, I loved the 'who killed Archie' storyline, but probably just because it ended well for Stacey (well as well as it can in Soapville).

SoleSource · 19/08/2012 15:18

Little Mo and Trevor storyline cracked me up when he pushed her head in the gravy. The other parts made me very angry and shout at the television. When she finally stood up to him.was such a relief.

Kst.s storyline with her secret Daughter and the sexual abuse about her uncle was moving. Bianca and Carol, Dangaye was the best acting in that soap ever.

gregssausageroll · 19/08/2012 15:33

Bianca when she gave birth to Natasha was moving.
