Why isn't the Amelia Bullmore in this anymore?

Brilliant. BRILLIANT. Programme. Best written thing I've seen this year. Probably the best acted too. Trying to decide if I can justify buying on DVD given it is so 'of the moment'. The PR is - believe me - so accurate. And the woman who'd cocked up so much on the bell ringing thing (AND OH MY ISN"T THAT SO ACCURATE TOO??!?!) nodding sagely as the boss basically told her it was a crap idea - I have seen that face SO many times in real life. The 'oh shit, I've fucked up but I'm not going to admit any sort of liability so I am going to nod with a half smile'. Perfect.

My bro told me about this show and I watched the last episode and thought it was absolutely brilliant. Can't believe I didn't know anything about it and missed virtually 2 entire series. I wish there was some way of catching up with but can only find clips on you tube and the last 2 episodes on iplayer. I was in hysterics at the acorn replacement.

I loved this series, but thought the ending was a little too abrupt. I think it could have ended with something like Ian asking Sally if she'd go with him, and then it ends before she can answer. It seemed a bit odd as it was!

It was fantastic though, so sad it's over :(

wriggletto · 26/07/2012 15:04

It's actually based on/inspired by an Australian sitcom set at the Sydney Olympics (called with Olympic-esque innovation, The Games). Some of the gags are quite similar, eg, the finished running track turns out to be a few metres short and the deliverance team ends up trying to spin it as a positive, as there will definitely be records set at the games - but it shows that we're not the only country to have quite a deadpan view of how we're coming across to the rest of the world at these major events...

I have loved this series right from the beginning and really would like it an after-series. I thought the ending left it perfectly open for that.

BringBackLONDON2012 · 26/07/2012 21:21

I completely missed this and am so angry it's not on iplayer! Does anyone know if there's anywhere else online to watch it?

BringBackLONDON2012 · 26/07/2012 21:41

Sorry, I meant I'd missed the whole series! Usually they have something like this on series catch up but for some reason they don't.

AThingInYourLife · 26/07/2012 21:45

I like to think Ian and Sally went to Umbria together.

But of course I know that is not how it would have happened. Ian didn't love Sally, or even notice her. He just needed someone to look after him.

The episode with the Olympic torch route is one of the funniest things I've seen.

And the audio logo from the first series - class :o

lizbee156 · 26/07/2012 23:26

Noooo.
Don't say that!
I want to think they went to Umbria and it all went swimmingly!

This has been my favourite thing on TV for ages, I loved it.

BartletForAmerica · 27/07/2012 06:42

I think it's available on iTunes.
