Anyone watching My Sister's Keeper?

It's so sad :-(

It's more hard hitting than I expected.

I wasn't too bothered about the film tbh. I didn't find Cameron Diaz believeable in the mothers role. That said, I loved the book which as someone upthread mentioned, is far more hard hitting and heartbreaking

It is categorically not based on a real story. I met the author. She wrote the book as a 'what if' after reading one newspaper article once.

She's an awful, predictable, novelist IMO, so I am pleased the film changed the plot a little.

I watched this with my two sisters at cinema shortly after dh dx and sobbed my way though the film and then was so angry they changed the ending.
