Anyone watching Young Musician of the Year?

So difficult when different categories of instruments, I like that one, then I hear another and like that one.

I am! But although I really like music, and listening to it, I really can't critique...so have no idea who plays best or deserves to win!

Think I am rooting for the percussionist and cellist.

I'm for the cellist at the moment, but maybe the trombonist.

So difficult.

Like you, I can't critique it, I can only go for what sounds nice to me.

I watched the semi and the final. Couldn't choose between the pianist and the cellist - both deserve an international career - but I would have liked to have seen the percussionist in the final. I'm glad she got a bursary though. The recorder left me cold.

Bumping this up to give déjà view a chance to join us, although it may be too late for this now.

I loved the whole thing and was lucky enough to be there for one of the category finals and the semi final. I couldn't choose between them myself and just thought the whole thing was marvellous. I was so pleased for the finalists that they all played so well and showed what they could do.

I DID love the recorder - I've not had many opportunities to hear recorder at that level ( a could of snippets in baroque concerts here and there) and just loved the tone. But equally loved the piano and the cello. Glad I wasn't a judge I'd still be trying to make up My mind!
