Spoiler alert.

Right, I have the following massive loose ends:

  • So was anyone actually persecuting Sarah/trying to make her go crazy, or was it All In Her Head? Or was it the Mayor's people, and if so why, given that it turns out the worst thing he did was cobble together a fake CCTV pic of Darren Richmond? All the big "wooo everyone around us is corrupt" dramas seemed to suddenly disappear at some point and it wasn't clear why.
  • What was the whole deal with the picture of trees and Sarah's previous case about a little boy who kept drawing trees, and why did it turn out to be totally irrelevant given that the Larson case involves a chase in the woods?! No fair!
  • What the hell was Terri's alibi for that night? It obviously must have been bollocks/unverifiable, and the police should have uncovered that on about Day 3, only that was in the running around like headless chickens and following up the slightest suggestion of a lead phase. There is such a thing as procedure! as Sam Tyler would say.
  • Janek (sp?) and Beau Soleil - why, what, etc. Why did he burn down the building containing the servers? What was it that was supposed to be on them either (a) that had anything to do with the case or (b) that incriminated Janek in anything? And why did Janek give Stan the police case files? At the time I thought it must be because he wanted to finger someone and goad Stan into killing them (whether or not they actually did it), but he never did and the next time he saw Stan he simply threatened him with harm to his (remaining) family if he didn't act as a hitman, so what was the point?

There are probably more.

Loved it. Thought the acting was superb, the characters were so complex and far from good/bad simplicity. The ending was a shock despite odd feelings through the series about that person and hints.

At times it was painful viewing because of the grief, desolation and bad decisions of people I felt for.

But it had me hooked utterly. Even when I wasn't looking forward to watching it within a minute of an episode starting I was utterly absorbed.

Will there be a series 3?

Aaaahhhhh!!!

Just watching the last one, i didn't think it was him!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 30/07/2012 22:18

Aaaahhh!!! Knew there was something not right with her!!!

daisygatsby · 31/07/2012 16:40

aaaahhhh! i know hokeycokey ,surprising eh?
i think the thing that really affected me though was the reaction of rosies mum. the actress who played her was great at portraying hte grief, and stan was really good too.

I agree there were a few loose ends, or trails which didnt seem to lead anywhere madbuslady

i dont think theres going to be a season 3. i read recently it had been cancelled, but im not sure if that was before or after making series 3.

SrirachaGirl · 31/07/2012 16:42

We just finished watching Season 2 a few weeks ago. Best series end I've seen for a long time; it was haunting.

There is NOT going to be a season 3; it's been cancelled Sad.

Thanks daisygatsby i would not have watched it if you hadn't said!

And yes i think you're right about the parent, they really played it well and the grief was very raw and i cried at the end!
