Why is a show that has been on before being shown again?

Is it because the previous episodes have been quite dark?

I love Silent Witness too - but did anyone else think they rather jumped the shark with last week's effort?

I thought last weekends story was a bit full on and i wondered whether the writers had been on something lol. Adrian Dunbar was brilliant in it though. Hes a very underated actor imo. I undderstand why they are being cautious about the sex crimes story and about being careful about when they show it. thats completely understandable and could be triggering for the young women who went through that horrifying experience for real.
It could also be because Corrie is on at 9 tonight cos of BGT. And they didnt want to clash SW with Corrie? Simon Cowell ruling the roost at ITV does tend to have a knock on effect on other channels. Git.
