What the poo was silent witness about?

Aerobreaking · 30/04/2012 22:06

Just wasted 2 hours of my life watching this week's silent witness?

I feel NONE the wiser having watched it to the end.

Please can someone clever tell me what the chuff was going on?

So Eve got measles, then her brother did and became blind. From then she thought she was evil? So what were those colour things? Auras?

And why could her brother see them? Was it long-QT syndrome?

Also what were those bone fracture things on the hands and feet that they talked about in the first episode?

Also Leo made that big speech about how the nun/psychiatrist had pain days before she even met Eve? So what was that pain?

And was Sean the psychiatrist nice really? Did he do that last bit to John to help him? If so why did he have to do in on the top of the building?

I don't understand!

I literally have no clue what happened. And I like to think I'm not totally stupid. I've got a university degree and everything

I am aware even my questions don't make much sense. That is how much I didn't understand this programme.

I have no idea. I only carried on watching for the odd glimpse of Harry.

pendleberry · 30/04/2012 22:09

I feel so angry I want to write to the BBC. I thought last weeks episode was bad but this one was pathetic. There must be a new writer or producer as it has changed from my favourite programme to one I will not watch again

PermanentlyOnEdge · 30/04/2012 22:28

I have watched the whole series solely in the interest of seeing Harry and Nikki get together after last years dramatic events. Talk about disappointed. Why has the whole series been about Leo ?? Who cares about his (third?) mid-life crisis!! And this last episode double just takes the biscuit. What the hell was all that about? And why waste our time with this? I've waited all year for this as Silent Witness has always been one of my annual highlights, but that was truly dire.

Get it together BBC. That was diabolical.

diddl · 30/04/2012 22:30

It was absolute crap, wasn´t it?

BearBehavingBadly · 30/04/2012 22:33

Absolutely! We're still confused in this household.

Sharpkat · 30/04/2012 22:37

This whole series has just been totally confusing. Gone are the days of a good storyline with a couple of twists. I cannot understand it at all now. Sad

queenofthepirates · 30/04/2012 22:39

Very odd.
Agree, that Harry is a major bit of eye candy

PoohBearsHole · 30/04/2012 22:40

Did not get it, and frankly if you are going to do such a weird story line ffs make sure everyone can actually act! It was dire and I feel drained I could have been reading 50 shades of grey and getting all hot under the collar but oh no..........Angry

PoohBearsHole · 30/04/2012 22:41

And now I have had my turn with the remote and gave to watch tosh about classic car auctions yawn

Aerobreaking · 30/04/2012 23:01

Completely agree permanently that this whole series has been about Leo, when his character isn't strong enough to hold it. Everybody surely is watching SW for Harry and Nikki to get together finally so why bore us with Leo week after week? Harry topless. Give the audience what they want!

First of all they end Waking The Dead, and now they ruin Silent Witness. It's not fair I tell you

Slightly pleased that no one else understood it though. Makes me feel less of a thicko. Grin Although I'm not sure even the writer's understood it tbh.

I used to love it
I didnt even see the latest one as have have already given up
Did H and N ever sort it out? (what a gorgeous couple)

Aerobreaking · 30/04/2012 23:08

Bronze, they may have done, but since this series we are apparantly entirely focussing on Leo who noone cares about the camera may have missed the dramatic getting-it-together in favour of Leo's now 'I'm loosing it' stubble.

Alternatively, they may be making us wait until next series by which time there won't actually be any viewers left to watch them and what will surely be incredibly beautiful children.

OP posts:
Aerobreaking · 30/04/2012 23:09

So the short answer, no they didn't. Grin

I've never like Leo. Smarmy bloody know it all

2rebecca · 30/04/2012 23:25

I like Leo, I also like forensic pathology though and find psychological dramas a bit far fetched and tedious. Bring back the pathology and believable plots. Can we keep the pathologists in their labs and mortuaries like real pathologists? They are allowed out on special occasions to have sex, but not with the suspects or relatives of suspects please, just each other and random people not connected with the murder plot, like real pathologists.

PoohBearsHole · 30/04/2012 23:26

Here here 2rebeccaGrin

anniewoo · 30/04/2012 23:27

I've stopped watching it.Sad

KurriKurri · 30/04/2012 23:28

I think Leo woke up and found it was all a dream. He'd fallen asleep over the tedious monologue he seems to be recording on his computer.

Either that or he was having a psychotic episode brought on by the realisation that he is the least interesting character in the series, and now that he's ditched Janet (at least in his mind he did the dumping, we all know Janet had had enough and scarpered) he's going to be dull at home as well as dull at work, and people will switch off in their droves.

His friend Sean killed himself because he was worried he might be forced to be in another Leo-heavy, Harry-Light episode.

Now if we can teach nikki to stop being so fecking earnest AND to walk in heels then we would be ok!!!

And acting, please give them lessons I am shocking but they are not believable!
Rant over and out

CarpeJugulum · 01/05/2012 08:14

Maybe Harry and Nikki will wake up together in the shower and discover the last series hasn't happened?! Wink

I had to work the last few nights and missed it. DH taped it for me (he watched it) but on the basis of his review and now all of these, I think the delete button may be employed!

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/05/2012 08:21

Really disappointed in this whole series. I just don't care about Leo anymore. His character has become far too self centred.

As for the last episodes. What a load of tosh. The only thing they achieved was to make the audience ask loads of questions to which there are no answers. Oh wasn't that what Leo's mid-life crisis about. Confused

I didn't really want to go along for that ride thanks bbc. :(

shoppingbagsundereyes · 01/05/2012 09:42

So glad it wasn't just me. I have decided not to bother with silent witness anymore. Last week was plain gruesome, this week was unfathomable. Bloody stupid and unbelievable with Leo roaring off all over the place solving crimes. Also think the police officers in this series have been laughably useless. But now I have to find something better to do with my Sunday and Monday evenings.

Saltire · 01/05/2012 09:46

I watched a very early silent witness episode the other day. it had Amanda Burton in it. Now her character was annoying

I ahve 6 episodes of the current series to watch on sky+ but havne't enjoyed any others I've watched yet, so might just delete them

PoohBearsHole · 01/05/2012 09:49

The only good person in the whole series imho was Janet, and they ditched her because Leo was too self centred. Grr.
