I love it, especially Gordon. Me and DD watched it last night. She was particularly scathing of Bedelia and her chandelier.

We watch it.
Dh got me watching it. Did you see the woman with her grandmothers antique dildo the other week?
There are some strange things turn up.
That woman with the chandelier was a bit strange though.

ripsishere · 20/04/2012 08:03

Yes, I loved the fact that Gordon knows the person who has the largest collection.

My favourite programme! I missed it this week Sad. It's one of those programmes the whole family loves. I miss the female from the last series though.

pud1 · 20/04/2012 08:25

I miss her too Lee but quite like the new one. The bloke with the scares and dice annoys me thoug

ripsishere · 20/04/2012 08:50

Never saw the last series. Stary dice man is a knob I'm afraid.
Andrew is lovely.

Out of last nights offerings, I'd have had the mammoth tusks in an instant.
I did laugh when the man said he'd had psychic visions that a certain person would buy them for the amount he wanted.
First room, £6k less and he bit the dealers hand off.

Was Vadelia with the chandalier a bloke?

noddyholder · 20/04/2012 23:44

We love it. I love Geoff many hours spent here doing impressions of them all. Quite fancy Andrew Blush

ripsishere · 21/04/2012 07:33

What's not to fancy about Andrew?
Badelia is a woman I think. tough shout, she's clearly had plenty of work done to keep her frozen in time.
Mind you, that Celia is another lump of mutton IM DDs opinion. Scathing and jaded. NOt a good attitude for a not quite 11 YO to have.

Just watched on catch up my crush on Andrew is serious!

perfumedlife · 26/04/2012 00:41

We love this programme Grin I love Andrew, Jeff and Gordon. Tonight was very funny when Andrew finally outbid for an item Gordon was after. Am sure chandalier lady was a man though. Twas manly hands and knees.

ripsishere · 26/04/2012 10:33

Last nights was a bit meh IMO. Don't like the look of the Auscwitz made of teeth. Very unsavoury. Similar to deluded mans human skin purse. £50k?
I hope they decline bidding the way they did with the KKK outfits.

OP posts:
noddyholder · 26/04/2012 10:34

The skin purse was hideous! Loved the chapman art though and Gordon really makes me laugh!

ripsishere · 04/05/2012 13:02

Auscwitz model anyone? I honestly can't believe that an individual could consider that to be art in any shape or form.
DD was hissing mutton mutton mutton at Celia. She is a badly behaved child but could have a point.
I felt sorry for pinball man and was agog at watch man.

Who's the 'expert' with the scarf. Not a big fan of his, hope for his sake his weird mannerism and shout unless is to make him look interesting Hmm on the tv, rather than his real life persona.

Another mini - crush on Andrew here!

ripsishere · 04/05/2012 16:56

Jeff Salmon/d. strange agressive man although allegedly the best dealer. In England. Today. AKA twat.

OP posts:
Changethatbulb · 04/05/2012 17:37

I'm starting to wonder if he's got any other scarves! And when he gets the dice or cards out it makes me stabby.

No crush on Andrew. He would only screw someone whilst looking in a mirror - at himself of course.

whatkungfuthat · 04/05/2012 20:40

I love this but preferred the woman from last time, this one never goes out on a limb to buy something. The previous one loved her taxidermy (sp?) and gothic so she was much more interesting afaic. I do have a weird crush on Andrew, even more since he bought the hitler bust to stop it falling into a dubious collection in the last series.

BrightnessFalls · 05/05/2012 16:21

Jeff has a shop and my friend said is amazing and, that he is a lovely man. I wonder if anything happens after the cameras stop? Like the person who sold the ten Macqueen dresses to a man dealer. She said she had over a hundred and the lady dealer wanted them badly, do you think the seller and deal do business afterwards?

ripsishere · 05/05/2012 17:14

This is the first series I've seen so I know nowt about the other woman dealer.
I'd like to visit Jeff's shop, although unless it is in the NW of England, it's unlikely I will.
I wonder too how long they film for. Maybe Jeff brought one scarf and no others.

OP posts:
Changethatbulb · 05/05/2012 17:21

I too have often wondered if they are allowed to contact the sellers afterwards. I also wonder if they do deals between themselves.

I know they say they don't know the order they are being seen in but surely, the longer you wait in the room, you know you are further down the pecking order?

whatkungfuthat · 05/05/2012 18:30

Did anyone see the one last series with the Banksy wall? All the others offered 20 or 30k and Jeff offered over 200k but they knocked him back as they wanted 300 to start an art gallery. I read later that it had remained unsold.

Changethatbulb · 05/05/2012 23:52

I saw it. Served them right I think. Although the Banksy will undoubtably sell for silly money when the market is right.

On the other hand, I think the chip shop owners with the Damien Hirst fish were robbed. But that's business for you I suppose.

ripsishere · 14/05/2012 15:14

I bloody missed it last week Angry.

The woman from last series was called Emma. And yes, she was much better than her leathery replacement.

If anyone has Sky, look out for a programme called 'Oddities', which is about a shop in America that buys and sell wierd and wonderful stuff. If you like 4 Rooms, you'll enjoy it.
