Anyone still watching?

Verdict on the series 2 end?

Didn´t see it coming, that´s for sure!

Just watched the last two episodes - my goodness, I didn't see that coming.

I love this series, just can't understand why it isn't advertised more or on Channel 4. Like failingfast I only caught this series after seeing a thread on here about it.

diddl · 17/04/2012 07:46

Well her wedding was off & Cathy & Co supposedly off to Italy, so not a stretch to think that she might have gone to visit her family.

Tbh I didn´t miss her!

I only caught it after one of the ladies on the Cancer support thread mentioned it Grin. I didn't see any of the first series. Not many people I know in RL have even heard of it.

clangermum · 17/04/2012 21:36

As series endings go, it was right up there with the very last few minutes of Six Feet Under for originality. Thought about it a lot the following day.

Didn't realise there was a series 3 though, might have to look at that link.

BiscuitNibbler · 17/04/2012 22:10

BooMagoo - Thanks for the link to the third series - just watched episode one.

This show is the first in a long time to really grab my attention, it is so well done.

BrightnessFalls · 18/04/2012 09:29

It was me who posted about the second season returning Grin

Its so silly how it is tucked away. I know loads of people that would love it. They did this with Brothers and Sisters as well and it ended up been cancelled.

Im going to be good and not look at Season 3 I hope

lifesalongsong · 18/04/2012 13:05

I've sucumbed to the temptation to watch the first ep of S3 - my lips are sealed Grin

BooMagoo · 18/04/2012 15:12

Sorry if your willpower's been totally wrecked Grin I was so grateful to have found this link, and use it for everything now.

verytellytubby · 18/04/2012 18:43

I sobbed. What an ending.

I love this series so much.

BrightnessFalls · 18/04/2012 19:36

Do you think she really will die by the end of it?

lifesalongsong · 18/04/2012 20:18

Don't worry Boo, I'm quite happy to have been tempted, the first episode is quite intriguing, I'm sure it won't be long before I watch the others on there as well Grin

PorkyandBess · 18/04/2012 21:08

I have just watched it (4od + ipad + bath Grin) and wept buckets!

I did guess what was going to happen though as he was walking around with his hand on his heart!

BookFairy · 18/04/2012 21:48

I love The Big C :) More 4 has done well getting so many strong US shows but needs to advertise them more!

(Andrea was there: she was due to marry that guy but Paul told her about his visa expiring. Andrea yelled blue murder and went off in her wedding dress to call 911 from a phone box to shop him for visa violation.)

Wolfiefan · 18/04/2012 21:51

SOB!

lifesalongsong · 18/04/2012 22:16

Andrea in the phonebox was in the penultimate episode, I'm sure it was in the "previously on .." round up at the beginning of the final ep.

MinnieBar · 18/04/2012 22:17

I'm sure I read somewhere that she will die, eventually (and of cancer, not something else) because the writer/creator and Laura Linney were adamant that they didn't want to wuss out of it. Bottom line: cancer kills, and there's no miracle cure.

Islagiatt · 18/04/2012 22:53

Just watched the last episode. OMG didn't see that coming at all and cried my eyes out. What a brilliant show.

BrightnessFalls · 19/04/2012 08:47

The poor son, though!! How horrible for him. Remind me, what happened to her brother at the end of it?

MyDogShitsShoes · 19/04/2012 09:12

Watched it last night.

Another one who started getting twitchy when he was rubbing his chest.

But when he walked up to the finish line I did a proper dramatic hand to mouth siob. Even uttered an out loud nooo.

Thank you brightnessfalls I didn't see any trailers for it at all, would have completely missed it if you hadn't said.

Torn about watching the linked one, think I want to wait and watch the whole.series together as nature intended!

diddl · 19/04/2012 09:16

I don´t think that he´ll die tbh.

I think he was "hovering" & will come back & Cathy will be looking after him in the next series.

If Cathy is going to die at the end, surely Paul won´t die also??!!

OP posts:
MyDogShitsShoes · 19/04/2012 10:49

Ah, but if he dies would his life insurance sort out their money issues?

Could it be the way to secure her treatment?

diddl · 19/04/2012 10:58

Hadn´t thought of that.

I suppose i´m thinking that Marlene died in series one.

Lee died in this-& Rebecca & Shaun/Sean lost the baby-Paul also would be -overkill?

OP posts:
MyDogShitsShoes · 19/04/2012 11:16

I bloody hope so!

clangermum · 22/04/2012 14:35

He looked sort of confused when he turned up at the finish line, as if he didn't know quite where he should be standing. But of course that could be because he had really died, which would also be confusing....

lostboysfallin · 25/04/2012 16:52

Cried and cried
