It starts frim the beginning each week and the boat sinks each episode. It's from a different perspective each time, but the scenes I reeling, so a conversation we've seen tonight might pop up next week but from the view of someone walking past.
I liked it, but I love Titanic, I'm a little bit obsessed.
I went to the cinema 3 times to see the film and I've seen the ad for it being re-released in 3D do I'll be going again Blush

LineRunner · 25/03/2012 22:22

I'm watching it again on ITV + 1 thingy.

silverbay · 25/03/2012 22:30

I liked it, but I couldn't shake the feeling that Jack and Rose were just out of shot half the time.

I'm disappointed, I thought some of the acting was very hammy, the writing was a bit clunky and it was dull. We didn't have time to get to know the characters before the iceberg hit. I was really looking forward to it as well.

LineRunner · 25/03/2012 22:33

There was a very weird moment with a Scottish-or-Irish-or-just-diddly accent.

EngeldinckHumperbert · 25/03/2012 22:34

YAWN! Problem is, we all know how it ends...

LineRunner · 25/03/2012 22:34

A bit like the Bible.

KikkiK · 25/03/2012 22:34

I did find it a little bit dull, and thought it was hard to keep track of who was who, but I'll keep watching.

What was the Irish lady shouting at the Lord? I missed it, and it seemed to be crucial!

daenerysstormborn · 25/03/2012 22:36

it's trending on twitter as drownton Wink

OlympicGoldPennies · 25/03/2012 22:50

Not that impressed. Everyone looked so similar and we had such fleeting introductions to them that it was hard to differentiate between them all, therefore it's difficult to care who lives and who doesn't. (Disclaimer: obviously it would be nice to have everyone survive but even Fellowes can't rewrite history.)

LineRunner · 25/03/2012 23:07

All will be revealed in time....

ppeatfruit · 26/03/2012 08:15

LOL at ' Drownton'!!!! yeah well I was a bit peeed off that they put it up against Up.Down. 'cos although i hate it I want to know what happens IYSWIM.

It would be good if Fellowes only drowns the bitches and cads like that posh one who won't get in lifeboats with "prostitutes and trade" or something like that. Why does her husband like her? he should push her in!!!

sairygamp · 26/03/2012 09:56

I sort of enjoyed it but can't bear things where little children die , as probably the steerage family will Sad

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 26/03/2012 13:49

Can someone explain the bit about the brooch turning up in that horrible woman's jewellery roll after she would let her maid put it with the pursar. "This isn't the one I wore last night"
Confused

sairygamp · 26/03/2012 13:53

No. That baffled me too....

ppeatfruit · 26/03/2012 14:27

sairy Me too about the DCs (I can't bear knowing in advance I'm going to be crying if I really get into something). I missed that bit about the mean woman; she should worry about her jewellery!!

sairygamp · 26/03/2012 14:29

I cried when i saw them on the docks!!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 26/03/2012 16:52

I am sure I saw one of the actresses from 1997 film in the series last night - an American chubby lady...

sairygamp · 26/03/2012 17:55

Yes, sally whatsit-she was in Misery too!

wintera · 26/03/2012 18:06

Misery was Kathy Bates who was in the 97 film, as Molly Brown but she wasn't in last night's episode though as far as I know.

sairygamp · 26/03/2012 18:27

Kathy Bates, that's it! Well there was a woman very like her.. who's sally then? I'm clearly mad.

wintera · 26/03/2012 18:43

Ha ha lol no idea who Sally is at all, sorry! Smile

shotinfoot · 26/03/2012 20:59

Can someone tell me whether this is actually connected to Downton or completely separate.

Patrick and his Dad were on the Titanic, will they pop up?

Also the evil Mrs Bates appears as Mrs Batley. Trying to work out if she has enough time to get back home and marry Mr Bates before he crops up at Downton.

I take this too seriously don't I. Grin

KenDoddsDadsDog · 26/03/2012 21:01

I liked it but found it a bit depressing .

Moln · 27/03/2012 22:03

It's not connected to Downton shotinfoot - same writer and the actress who played Mrs Bates is simple acting a different person

no 100% sure if you were serious but though I' answer your question in case you were, on a side I do like that actress I think she very good
