Introduced by Tony Head. They have counted down the first 3 or so, so far Grin

Tabula Rasa is another favourite of mine.

Trills · 03/03/2012 21:56

Chub was that when he was sort of working with them because he could only hurt demons? So they forgot and thought he was on their side?

Chubfuddler · 03/03/2012 22:00

Yes exactly. He was just in it for the punch ups.

Chubfuddler · 03/03/2012 22:01

Humphry wasn't that season seven? I can remember very little about it. Must re watch but I remember it as a bit rubbish

Chubfuddler · 03/03/2012 22:04

Spike dies doesn't he? Shame it wasn't angel.

wintera · 03/03/2012 22:18

Yeah it was season seven that had the potential slayers. Season six was all about Buffy being depressed after coming back from heaven. My number one would definitely definitely be Hush. Followed closely by Once more with feeling, and then the season two finale which breaks my heart every time I watch it. Favourite season is season three no question. That's when Buffy was just untouchable as a tv show. Nothing else came close. Oh how I love my Buffy box sets! Can't wait till my daughter is old enough to watch them!

SciFiFan · 03/03/2012 22:26

He did come back though Chub (Spike that is). He was in the final season of Angel first as a kind of ghost but then back to normal (at least, as normal as you can be in Buffy).

Figgygal · 04/03/2012 10:01

I really want to see the episode intros and see the top 20 list but cant force dh to watch it all day. Can someone keep track and list the countdown i imagine it will be on the website eventually.

I voted like a saddo the wish from series 3 is my favourite, then the series 2 finale. I have been watching the repeats of series 7 on syfy forgot how good that season was love spike!!!!

May have to revisit my boxsets now.

whathaveiforgottentoday · 04/03/2012 11:58

Another vote for Hush as favourite although I really like the finale to buffy.

However just wanted to say 'damn children'. I can't watch buffy during the daytime as unsuitable viewing for a 2 and 5 year old.

Do you think I could pack em off somewhere just so I could indulge in a buffy fest afternoon?

HJwantstosleep · 04/03/2012 13:23

I was just saying to dh we are starting to have to censor tv from dd3 now. Dd1/2 are ok with early Buffy ( they are 12&10) as long as there's no sex stuff , the violence isn't too scary.

Figgygal · 04/03/2012 15:02

Cant believe the wish was at 7!!!!

IAmSherlocked · 04/03/2012 15:06

I love The Wish.

'How do you know the other world will be any better?'
'Because it has to be.'

'We fight, we die. Wishing doesn't change that.'

IAmSherlocked · 04/03/2012 15:06

Can someone tell me what's at No. 1 please?

ThePinkPussycat · 04/03/2012 15:26

Ooh I love The Wish, too. Willow realising that a tight basque is better if you are someone who doesn't breathe Grin

Not at No 1 yet.

The one after 'once more' is good. Where they forget who they are. Spike thinks he is Giles son & called Randy?

R2PeePoo · 04/03/2012 16:36

HJ thats Tabula Rasa (means blank slate in Latin). I got the Buffy box set for Xmas and we have got up to that one-watched it last night.

I thought the one where Joyce dies is one of the best portrayals of death and its impacts I have seen. I much prefer the episodes without/with very little Angel as there is a definite Edward/Bella moaning misery vibe that I have much less patience for now that I am not a teenager anymore.

HJwantstosleep · 04/03/2012 17:41

When they find Joyce its v unnerving. And it's natural compared to all the other deaths, it makes a difference how you watch it.

I feel sorry for Spike when he tried to leave flowers because she was nice to him & couldn't as Xander chased him off.

HumphreyCobbler · 04/03/2012 17:48

I love The Wish too.

There are just so many brilliant moments in that series. I agree that Joyce's death is excellently done. It is just one long take with no music, fantastic acting from SMG.

ThePinkPussycat · 04/03/2012 17:58

Joyce's death on atm. Buffy tells Giles not to move the body - and that's when full realisation dawns. (Only catching bits, as still sky + ing)

OP posts:
wintera · 04/03/2012 18:49

Oh ffs I can't believe I forgot to mention The body in my list. Don't know how I could have missed that out. I remember when that was originally shown on tv and I was really worried about my friend seeing it. She lost her mum in very similar circumstances you see. She came home to find her mum lying on the sofa after suffering a brain hemorrhage. Lots of things in the episode were identical to my friend it was unreal. Don't know if she ever ended up watching the episode, she avoided it after I told her what happened.

IAmSherlocked · 04/03/2012 18:51

Humphrey, iirc, there is no music at all in The Body - a very specific choice by Joss. He wanted to make it as hard-hitting and 'real' as possible.

Willow's panic over what she should wear and Anya's outburst are what make that episode stand out for me - 'no-one will tell me why.' Her trying to comprehend human emotion makes it so powerful.

Trills · 04/03/2012 18:53

I watched Hush this afternoon :o

CaveMum · 04/03/2012 20:35

Gutted that we don't have SyFy Sad

So many favourite episodes already mentioned, I'd like to add Fool For Love [another Spike-fest]

Did we ever find out if Cecily (William's crush) and Halfrek (Anya's vengeance demon friend) were the same person, or that they just cast the same actress for each part? I'm sure there was a moment where Spike and Halfrek seemed to recognise each other Grin

HJwantstosleep · 04/03/2012 20:37

They do recognise each other , then pretend not to.

We don't have sy-fy either.

HumphreyCobbler · 04/03/2012 22:16

Just watched OMWF.

It made me really happy Smile
