I have a midwives dictionary from 1952 and the 'treatment' for PE was basically 'bed rest in a quiet dark room'. Hmm

MissMogwi · 05/02/2012 20:42

It is Mary. How awful that poor girl and the poor parents. I can't imagine going through that.

wonderstuff · 05/02/2012 20:42

God this is grim.

LottieJenkins · 05/02/2012 20:43

I thought it was the Irish girl whos baby was adopted too!!

wonderstuff · 05/02/2012 20:44

Is anything nice going to happen?

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 05/02/2012 20:44

Still the only treatment is to deliver the baby isn't it.
So much more research still needed .
It's still so very hit and miss .

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 05/02/2012 20:46

I dont know much about it Nanny but I would expect that the woman would have far more medical support now days. Drips etc

JoantheFennel · 05/02/2012 20:46

Can't believe how lucky I was to have pe and hellp in the 21st century.

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 05/02/2012 20:49

I can't watch the end of this this week .
I'm going to have to turn over it's just so distressing . Sad
I will resume next week.

Lilka · 05/02/2012 20:49

When I saw Mary the other week I thought they'd just missed off the end of the story beacuse it was so far in the future. Didn't realise they were going to put it in a seperate program :(

oooggs · 05/02/2012 20:50

This is so Sad

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 05/02/2012 20:51

ohdo there is no treatment for PE - only delivery of the baby .

Mine made me and my baby very poorly and iv never got over the experience .

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 05/02/2012 20:53

It can be managed and monitored though and eclamspia is now rare.

SecretNutellaFix · 05/02/2012 20:55
