No did not see the cbeebies panto will have to look and see if online anywhere

Hmm think Harry said he been with his g/f a long time

AvengingGerbil · 19/12/2011 11:58

If you look on the BBC Strictly webpage, Brucie is credited as a Writer of the show. I fear no-one else can take responsibility for the jokes. It makes his inability to read an autocue as if he had ever seen the material before even more jaw-dropping.

TheMaskedPan · 19/12/2011 12:50

"slightly fancied Aliona?" It's like saying water is slightly wet.Grin

AriesWithBellsOn · 19/12/2011 13:05

Great idea re: John Barrowman. He'd be perfect.

Animation · 19/12/2011 13:16

Apparently Harry and Izzy are in a long term relationship but had a 6 month break from each other just before he did strictly.

Grin - The MaskedPan - you're right... you either fancy someone or you don't. I think he fancied Aliona a lot! There...I've said it.

Animation · 19/12/2011 13:24

How about Eammonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford to present.

Sparklingbaubles · 19/12/2011 13:26

Please say that's a joke Animation. Angry

Animation · 19/12/2011 13:29

Sorry Sparklingbaubles I'm in a silly mood - I don't know what came over me there.Xmas Grin

TheMaskedPan · 19/12/2011 13:31

I know/think H was massively fancying Aliona - he was trying just too hard to show that he wasn't - one doesn't become so intimate with her and keep such a straight face about it, to the point of making no mention (hardly) of his appreciation of her. The producers were mercilessly cruel in matching the two of them. imo and hoping for sparks. But it never happened.

[needs a real man emocion]Grin

AliBellandthe40jingles · 19/12/2011 13:34

Pan I think you might be reading too much into it. Xmas Grin Not all blokes fancy her you know!

SantasCave · 19/12/2011 13:43

When you spend so much time with another person it is easy to think you've fallen for them. There are countless numbers of professional dance couples who have got together only to find, when their careers are over, that they don't actually have anything in common. It happened to Len!

TheMaskedPan · 19/12/2011 13:45

Ali - there is every chance you are right.Smile

shouldnotbehere · 19/12/2011 13:52

Did anybody think that Holly and Artem, didn't hit it off?

Sorry for the link to Daily Fail, but couldn't help but notice that Kara and Artem were not on Holly's private jet.

I just got the impression Holly prefered dancing with Brendan.

SantasCave · 19/12/2011 14:13

We're about to run out of thread.

Might I suggest a new one for the Christmas Special - no doubt some of the celebs will end up in the main show next year!

TheMaskedPan · 19/12/2011 14:35

yes, and a really witty/timely one like this one please. [adopts role as artistic director]

WhatsWrongWithYou · 19/12/2011 14:55

I wonder if Fern Britten will be on next year? She was a revelation on last year's Christmas Special - beautiful legs and she really threw herself into it and had a natural ability I thought.

EdlessAllenPoe · 19/12/2011 15:05

Tess: dress 1~ nice. i thought appropriate to occasion,
#2 shocking. somewhere out there is a tarts boudoir missing its curtains.

Harry: lovely dancing, i felt they could have put more content in the AT for him seeing as it was the big night. I think he has a natural talent. However i don't like Alionas Choreography as he could be doing so much more than swirl her around.

Chelsee: Oh her Rhumba was perfect! her quickstep a teensy bit frayed but that is being very picky indeed. The difficulty level she was attaining was much higher, i felt. I would have crowned her winner!

Jason: robbed, on the strength of the first two dances he should have gone through. i loved that super-camp tango!

Holly : did work better with Brendan, i believe this is partly because he is taller than her, and they make a better couple to look at...

Animation · 19/12/2011 15:22

Agree that the chemistry with Holly and Brendam looked good.

Could have been a winning team.

Snowstorm · 19/12/2011 18:26

Even though I didn?t want him to win, I thought Jason's Show Dance was the best by miles and can?t understand why the pros haven?t caught on to the fact that the Great British Public like to see fun, upbeat show dances that border on the old-fashioned but incorporate a lot of moves from earlier dances ? show casing how far their partner has come, via a long list of different dances. Pasha had a plan re. choreographing their show dance around Chelsee?s disco-dancing personality but it couldn?t compete (as couldn?t Harry?s) with Jason and thingy?s routine and was just wrong as a show-stopping number. I hate most show dances ? have to watch them from behind a cushion as no matter how talented the dancers, the choreography sort of goes out the window and a lot of it involves me thinking ?but why did you have to go and do that??

FrothingBeserker · 19/12/2011 18:32

Kristina's choreography for that show dance was absolutely amazing. She really did have the right idea - it was a total showcase - of her, of him, of the dances they had done. It was their 'journey' in a nutshell. And it played to Jason's strengths (the showbiz side of things) as well. It was brilliant, and I agree with an earlier poster - on the strength of his first two dances, Jason did not deserve to go out.

QuickLookBusy · 19/12/2011 18:43

I agree Frothing, I would have loved to have seen Jason's other 2 dances.

I was really cross for the rest of the night!

Snowstorm · 19/12/2011 19:39

You expressed yourself far better than me Frothing! However, I thought that Jason and Kristina's "I will survive" tango was just not performed as well as they did it originally, when I thought they did it brilliantly and I loved it (and I don't like Jason much - although had he never been allowed near a mike he'd have been on equal ground with the others I think). I'm no dancer (like really, really not) but Jason's posture was odd for that dance - his knees were maybe too bent because his bottom was sticking out enough for me to notice and there was something funny about his head/neck - too stiff, maybe through tension I thought.

I assume Kristina has a hand in the design of her costumes. Maybe I'm getting too middle-aged and just "bah" but that ... dress ... outfit ... costume that she was wearing when she was voted out was just AWFUL. Too much flesh on show (with all the strips holding it together across the hips) and I find myself distracted from the dancing but not in a good way - just looks so slutty and horrible and she's obviously a very talented dancer/choreographer too.

Talking of costumes ... was anyone else mesmorised by Chelsee's 'bandage' (attached to arm and neck?) on her rumba outfit? Couldn't relax too much during that dance because (I wanted it to be perfect and) I was waiting for it all to go horribly wrong as she either strangled herself or Pasha.
