Btw Alexandria is the biggest faker ever. Her whimpery fake smiles when in front of the panels are unbearable. Most importantly her photos are rubbish and she looks 'cheap'. I don't get the love from the judges (or rather I do. They want the drama). Kasia however I don't get AT ALL. Her weight isn't the issue (although the dress designed for her this week was really unfortunate and made her look massive), it's the fact that she literally looks deranged in half her pictures.

I am sure Alexandria has been kept in because she makes good tv.

Alexandria is so fake and I really felt Brittanni's frustration in the episode before.
The message ra is giving out is that it is okay to be fake and bitchy (Alexandria) as long as you are professional in front of clients (ie the people with the money.)
Hope alexandria is booted out before brittani, who is actually the better model.

also, just an aside, Alexandria really reminds me of sharon stone, especially with her smirking attitude.

I suspect though Alexandria would book the clients first time, but once they worked with her, she wouldn't be booked again.

Alexandria is an awful person but I love her!

The next cycle they are showing is cycle 5! Must have seen it 4 times so going to cancel the series link.

What has happened to all the other top models? Canada and Australia used to be shown

Australia NTM is back on! It's on a Saturday night,not sure what time,though. I have been watching it and it is nothing like previous cycles (do they say season or cycle??!) All the girls seem very glam,very self aware and very poised. It's a bit boring,tbh,they need a Cassie to liven it up Jonathon Pearce is not doing it any more,either,I actually prefer the new guy,he's very cute :)

Do you remember all the hooha from last year when Sarah announced the wrong winner? I saw that clip a couple of times but there is no way I would remember who the finalists were,they all look alike!

ANTM is one of my favourite shows. My best friend and I used to watch it together, before I moved 400+ miles away to Scotland and she stopped dropping in . I always enjoy the makeovers - but I don't understand why, after so many series cycles, there is still always one girl who makes a fuss about her style. Don't they know they will get in trouble for that, and that they are supposed to be chameleons and trust that Tyra knows best what style will launch them into modelling stardom??

The weave that Molly got this time was the complete exception to this - I do not understand why she was allowed to leave the salon with such an appalling 'do.

I'm sure that Alexandria, and previous cycle contestants like her, are kept in because they are good tv. Brittani was daft, ranting at Alexandria in front of one of the judges, but I can understand why she finally lost the plot with her.

I remember the one where Tyra ranted at the contestant who had the effrontery to smile when she was sent home - and it was obvious (to me, at least) that she was just putting a brave face on it.

I do think all the different countries have certain types and looks. Australia always had young, fun swearers. BNTM were awful the first season I saw. They didn't really look like models. Canada's were good, tall and editorial looking. American one is probably the best. I wonder if they have to be slightly older to apply though? And they are pretty well behaved, no drinking etc

Ah makeover,shmakeover....they all got extensions and/or wavy curls...only one girl had a radically different do,the only one who was a little bit out there and swore a a bit.She now has short red hair and looks fab.The rest stayed the same,more or less. I love makeover week but this one was very boring...there was one girl who cried because her hair didn't look right,but it seemed she was just doing it for the sake of it,tbh. i couldn't see owt wrong with it,anyway!

BNTM was awful the first season,and I didn't like Lisa Snowden doing it,she's hardly a top model,is she! (Disclaimer,neither am I )

I miss Miss J,I wish they had him back on the panel with his weird outfits...ALT is good,tho,and I do like the way that he throws into lots of French words and Tyra has to ask him what they mean

the aussie models probably work a lot as they are so young and seem very tall
and fresh faced.

the british lot always seem a bit quirky looking and not all that. the most beautiful on the last series of BINTM were both eastern european.

OMG! There are other addicts out there . I have discovered ANTM this summer and since I have watched cycle 6-15 on Sky and obviously cycle 16 is on at the moment. And cycle 5 is starting today! Woohoo! BTW, I am 31

Celia was brave. They do tend to get shot down if they display any form of autonomy.

When, as in what year, has it actually started? That clip with Tiffany looks ancient, Tyra looks like she has a 90s hairstyle.

My favourite is also Anglea, she was fab. And Elaina, the Russian girl who got this crazy red hair but it looked great on her.

The best one (and the only one who actually looked like a model) was Elyse in the first show. She was eliminated because she was too smart (medical student) and not 'humble' enough. When asked what she'd learnt through the cycle (she made it to the last three) she ackowledged that there was some work involved but ultimately it was all about good genes. Tyra was not impressed.
She was hilarious though, really fun bitchy.
Back then they went to Paris for go-sees. The winner was completely non-modelesque and ended up a reality star and married a Brady. Tyra likes to pretend the first cycle never happened.

The winner of series one - Adrienne fell out with Tyra big-style saying she got no help from her after she won. I think with cycle 1 tyra didn't really know what she was doing; the show has become much slicker since and tyra must have made a firtune from syndicating it and replicaitng over the world.

DP has given up trying to put me off watching it as he thinks it is vacous bitchy nonsense - isn't that the point?!!

I know that makes me sound very mad organized, but I even have a spreadsheet with all the cycles I have already watched and the winners written down. I really need a life!

Oooh DS (10) and I love this. DH mutters about it being rubbish.

My theory is that in Britain nobody is very far away from a big city/model agency so most people who have the right look will have been spotted/offered themselves to an agency and only the ugly ones are left for BNTM. In America and Australia on the other hand lots of people live in the middle of nowhere and remain to be discovered

Can't stand Tyra; but you have to admire her ability to make money...
