Help - Anyone watched both US and Original versions of the Killing (S1)?

Help me... I have seen the US version of the killing season 1 and have the entire season 1 of the danish version recorded ready to watch.

I watched the first episode last night and it seemed to be exactly the same plot.... is that the case for the whole series??

Is it worth me watching the danish version? I know everyone says it is better, but I am not sure I can cope with 20 hours of the same thing but with subtitles.... can i go straight to the second series on that basis that I have seen the US version?

nope its not the same.more twists and turns in the danish version although i found it a bit heavy going with the politics in places and the subtitles are a pain in the arse when youre tired.that said im watching the first episode s2 tonight that i recorded when the kids haved gone to bed!id say give it a go

p.s think series two is a dif story so should be able to follow it i think

The US version finishes on a cliffhanger and crime isn't solved. Danish version far superior (IMO)

Ok firstly here is a slap on the wrists for watching the shite American version first

The Danish version is brilliant. The first few episodes are similar, but where the American one goes nowhere, introduces no new suspects, and spends an entire episode on her missing brat son, the Danish one is a dark web of suspects, raw emotion and suspense. And it is solved in the end.

Yes, I've watched both and thought I must have missed the end of the US version.
I was watching them both episode for episode and the US one just leaves you hanging whereas the Danish one actually finishes. Much better and woth watching.

I know I know but I just came to the Danish version too late so I watched the US version and recorded the danish one when it was re-run recently
