The BBC don't make any profit out of the phone calls any more, they're not allowed to.

I liked Robin + Kristyna's dance - I thought it was a rare example of a showdance in the full-on showdance style that had the wow factor whilst still being recognisably a dance to music.

CeliaFate · 13/11/2011 20:57

I hated Robin and Kristina's dance. Full of clunky lifts and far too frenetic and unsophisticated. I normally like Kristina's choreography, but that was like a bull in a china shop.

Wow - great dance by Robin and Kristina!

Time for Russell to go I think now...

Pan · 13/11/2011 21:06

That wasn't a dance. It was a wrestling match. He had her on one fall AND two submissions.

Skillbo · 13/11/2011 21:15

Pan, my husband has done some pro-wrestling training and had a little Smile at your submission comment... and added he'd quite like to make Kristina submit - not too sure about that to bo honest Envy

Although if Robin wasn't gay, I'd get in there like a shot - he is just lovely and am delighted they got through.

Was definitely Audley's time to go but am pleased he was so gracious as he'd started to come across a little bit full of himself... stunning smile though which will be missed! Never been a Natalie fan though - agree that she does have a smoking hot body which I would LOVE but I'm 8 months pregnant right now so that's my excuse and I'm sticking with itvGrin

Go Jason!!

Bomper · 13/11/2011 21:18

Audley and Natalie seem like they can't stand each other. Couldn't even bring themselves to say something nice about one another during their leaving speeches.

CaveMum · 13/11/2011 21:18

It was a lyrical dance, as opposed to a ballroom/latin dance. I'm not normally a fan of lyrical dance, but there have been some amazing lyrical performers on the Sky Got to Dance show in the last two years.

submission Smile - I'd like to be wrestling Aliona, but I'd prob. let her win.....Grin

WhatsWrongWithYou · 13/11/2011 21:50

That's exactly what I thought, Cavemum - but I called it 'meaningful contemporary-style' - lyrical works better Smile.
In fact, it reminded me of one particular couple's performance on so you think you can dance - wondered if it might be the same choreographer.
I really enjoyed seeing two of my fave dancers doing something different but still gorgeous.

Isla77 · 13/11/2011 22:15

I am sad that Audley has gone as I thought he came across as a really genuine guy. However, I would not have wanted Anita to go as she is lovely and I think is working really hard at the dances. Glad Lulu has gone though. So full of herself. I think Audley did really well to get this far as I think the sheer size of him - and especially his feet! - worked against him. Just wish him luck for the future. Think Russell should go next as seems always to be almost a joke dance with him. He's had a good innings.

CaveMum · 13/11/2011 22:19

WWWY I think Mandy Moore did a lot of the contemporary/lyrical stuff for SYTYCD.

Russell has been entertaining so far - but now him staying in will be at the expense of someone (Robbie? Anita?) who is more deserving of a place. Let's hope he goes soon. I may even have to resort to voting at this rate ...

Sevenfold · 13/11/2011 22:31

please can someone explain something to me.
why is russel still in it?

RedBlanket · 13/11/2011 22:36

Hang on a minute. Robin is gay??? Shit I need a new gaydar!

Petisa · 13/11/2011 22:48

I absolutely LOVED Andre Rieu and the band and Erin and Anton's dance. Really stunning.

Ariesgirl · 13/11/2011 22:48

Oh come ON! Robin is the gayest man EVER! Grin

Skillbo · 13/11/2011 22:54

RedBlanket, am pretty damn sure but now don't know why I know this... and can't find anything on tinternet... but am sure I saw something somewhere, sometime...?

Perhaps I've got it wrong, in which case - let me at him!!

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 13/11/2011 22:55

Robin - Gay - Nooo!

Sad that Anita was in the bottom 2. She didn't deserve that after a great performance. She is suffering from the "older woman syndrome" - i.e. gets ignored by the public and will probably suffer a shock exit before someone far less deserving.

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 13/11/2011 22:58

Loved all the professional dances tonight. Always do tbh. But Robin and Krystina definitely stole the show from Christina Perry (who has a lovely voice and a nice song. Never heard of her before - [old gimmer emoticon])

thenightsky · 13/11/2011 23:02

DilysPrice it is a premium rate number... they say it is not 'profit' but rather a 'contribution to costs'

MelinaM · 13/11/2011 23:03

I think Russell and Alex should definitely go before Anita does. I love Anita and Robin so much!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 13/11/2011 23:04

Cavemum yes that name rings a bell. I did some digging around on Digital Spy and it seems she choreographed the boy's mic-stands dance last week. So it looks like she's definitely been wheeled in.
In fact, many noses out of joint on DS - she's not ballroom trained at all, so obviously not going to be doing any ballroom routines.
I can see how this would annoy true ballroom fans - I haven't reached those heady heights yet never will, but, although I do enjoy most of the pro dances from a purely aesthetic viewpoint (honest, guv), even I can see there's ballroom content missing. Which is kind of suppose to be the whe point of the series, isn't it?

Petisa · 14/11/2011 09:30

I agree, watching Anita so close to leaving the competition really made me want to ring and vote for her, which isn't something I'd normally do.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 14/11/2011 11:39

Only just caught up with this week's shows:

Tess: hated green dress. Liked white dress but think her norks were too big for it. Really DON'T mean that in a bitchy way ? I just wish someone would sort out her bras ? she's a beautiful woman and I don't understand how they consistently make her look bad.

Dances:
Alex ? hated creepy cheerleader dress. Great energy ? she was performing and selling it, which was lovely to see. Dance a bit ungainly though and overmarked. Ditch the stupid props!

Robbie ? meh. Thought his early ballroom dance with the umbrella (foxtrot?) was much better ? he needs to get his form back. Sick of his 'poor-me' attitude and 'I'm no good at anything' comments. He needs to man up.

Harry ? overmarked and overrated. Think he's a bit wooden in the sense that his dancing doesn't have much expressiveness. He also looked a bit fumbly and nervous. Routine too frantic and flashy but maybe that's just my taste ? I like a sultry moody AT.

Audley ? not awful, but just not up to scratch compared to the others, sadly.

Jason ? overrated. Bobbly and bumpy IMO. Beautiful song, lighting and outfits though.

Chelsee ? overrated. Didn't like the routine. Thought she looked constipated preoccupied rather than graceful. Pasha's hot though. Grin

Anita ? excellent apart from slightly stiff upper body and a couple of steps that left her with parted, bent legs ? not v elegant. Lovely mood though and a real connection between her and Robin.

Holly ? meh. She didn't 'slink' (technical term Smile) enough, maybe due to not working through her feet and knees properly? No chemistry IMO. She's just too cool for school and doesn't give the impression of feeling it.

Russell ? frustrated by all the comedy stuff now and would have liked to see him actually dance more ? he's really not bad!

Am happy about the result. Audley was such a likeable man but his time was up. He was very sweet and chivalrous towards Anita. I'd always thought he and Natalie got on, but they hardly acknowledged one another in the end. Hmm

10s are coming out much too early this series. In my day [old gimmer] even 9s didn't really start to make an appearance until quarter-finals or thereabouts. We're only halfway through! They've left themselves nowhere to go. What with that and the Jennifer Grey nonsense and the increasingly pole-dancery pro routines, I can definitely feel a stiff barking mad in green ink letter to the Beeb coming on.
