Only just caught up with this week's shows:
Tess: hated green dress. Liked white dress but think her norks were too big for it. Really DON'T mean that in a bitchy way ? I just wish someone would sort out her bras ? she's a beautiful woman and I don't understand how they consistently make her look bad.
Dances:
Alex ? hated creepy cheerleader dress. Great energy ? she was performing and selling it, which was lovely to see. Dance a bit ungainly though and overmarked. Ditch the stupid props!
Robbie ? meh. Thought his early ballroom dance with the umbrella (foxtrot?) was much better ? he needs to get his form back. Sick of his 'poor-me' attitude and 'I'm no good at anything' comments. He needs to man up.
Harry ? overmarked and overrated. Think he's a bit wooden in the sense that his dancing doesn't have much expressiveness. He also looked a bit fumbly and nervous. Routine too frantic and flashy but maybe that's just my taste ? I like a sultry moody AT.
Audley ? not awful, but just not up to scratch compared to the others, sadly.
Jason ? overrated. Bobbly and bumpy IMO. Beautiful song, lighting and outfits though.
Chelsee ? overrated. Didn't like the routine. Thought she looked constipated preoccupied rather than graceful. Pasha's hot though.
Anita ? excellent apart from slightly stiff upper body and a couple of steps that left her with parted, bent legs ? not v elegant. Lovely mood though and a real connection between her and Robin.
Holly ? meh. She didn't 'slink' (technical term
) enough, maybe due to not working through her feet and knees properly? No chemistry IMO. She's just too cool for school and doesn't give the impression of feeling it.
Russell ? frustrated by all the comedy stuff now and would have liked to see him actually dance more ? he's really not bad!
Am happy about the result. Audley was such a likeable man but his time was up. He was very sweet and chivalrous towards Anita. I'd always thought he and Natalie got on, but they hardly acknowledged one another in the end.
10s are coming out much too early this series. In my day [old gimmer] even 9s didn't really start to make an appearance until quarter-finals or thereabouts. We're only halfway through! They've left themselves nowhere to go. What with that and the Jennifer Grey nonsense and the increasingly pole-dancery pro routines, I can definitely feel a stiff barking mad in green ink letter to the Beeb coming on.
