[sweeps into a contra-check]

New thread, mark your places for tonight's show Grin

I have just watched, and for those who thought Len said 'you have a nasty way about you'd to Harry, it was actually addressed to Aliona. I guess he hasn't forgiven her for her week 1 comments about not listening to the judges on ITT.

And yes, I agree with pan about spoilers. Just because you don't say who goes out, you have revealed more than you perhaps meant to oakmaiden.

ScatterChasse · 20/11/2011 18:43

Yes, people should be careful about spoilers.

Fingers crossed it wasn't a shock who went though, just was in the bottom two. I mean it could be e.g. Russell and Jason, and Russell goes. Still a shock bottom two, but not a shock who went.

I had one look at Digital Spy and thought never again! Far too big and confusing.

AvadaKedavra · 20/11/2011 18:57

Aliona DOES have a nasty way about her though. I have never liked her. Weasel. Totally up herself and thinks she's fantastic.

[runs and hides from Wrath of Pan too]

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 20/11/2011 19:14

I agree that "Spoiler's out" and a link are fine, but "I'm Sad / Grin / Shock / unsurprised" is rather bad form (though probably less so this week than last since there was no predictable result).

I practically bite my tongue off with the effort of not commenting each week during the spoiler period.

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 20/11/2011 19:19

Just to clarify, I mean that last week 9/10 people would have predicted Audley leaving, and Anita was a hot pick for the bottom two, whereas this week if you surveyed 5 people you'd get 5 different answers as to who was going home, so practically any outcome could count as a surprise.

ScatterChasse · 20/11/2011 19:22

Presumably they chose her after she was a guest dancer on Dancing with the Stars. (I just looked it up). All the dancers from that seem to put (Lenism alert) the sizzle before the sausage.

But why have they used pros from America? Weren't there any dancers here who were willing to do it? I can understand that some of them might not want to do it or think it's gimmicky, but up until a couple of series ago it wasn't particularly, and some of the early pros were really high-powered.

ScatterChasse · 20/11/2011 19:23

Sorry, that was about Aliona. X-posted, so not very clear!

CaveMum · 20/11/2011 19:41

There are plenty of great dancers in the UK that could take part. The show has got very Latin heavy of late. It would be fabulous if they could get a true ballroom expert in like Chris Hawkins, who is just a dream to watch.

My teacher doesn't get to watch Strictly much as she is out of the country teaching in Europe a lot but she did tell me that in her opinion Brendan, Bincent and Flavia are the best dancers. She doesn't rate Aliona and said she finds Artem too stiff through his chest.

OP posts:
CaveMum · 20/11/2011 19:42

Bincent = Vincent obviously Hmm

OP posts:
Pan · 20/11/2011 19:45

sorry CM, Bincent is going to stick.Grin

ScatterChasse · 20/11/2011 19:50

No pro dance tonight?

megcleary · 20/11/2011 19:52

I am going to have a mega huff if Artem is out and Russell stays. So there.

CaveMum · 20/11/2011 19:53

They did a weird medley thing at the start but looks like we wont get a special performance tonight.

I miss the way they used to do it when a pro couple would perform a dance that the celebs would be attempting the following week so you could see how it should look.

OP posts:
Pan · 20/11/2011 19:54

yes I remember that CM - really good idea.

If Holly goes, so does my licence fee.

CaveMum · 20/11/2011 19:57

Phew! So I guess Anita is the favourite to go next week, they've got a pretty strong bunch left now!

OP posts:
megcleary · 20/11/2011 19:58

and breathes out.............

Oakmaiden · 20/11/2011 20:02

OK - I cocked up twice. The first was that I read the wrong post on the Digital Spy forum, and when I originally posted I though 2 popular dancers had been in the bottom two and that none of the ones I would consider at risk were. Which is why I was Shock about it - and in that situation I don't/didn't think I was giving so much away.

As it happens, I quickly noticed that I was wrong and which two dancers were in the bottom, but by that time I felt I would be making things worse correcting my mistake before the actual results show - as that WOULD have been a spoiler, saying "Oh, it is OK, someone we were expecting is leaving after all". So I have held my tongue until now.

But it wasn't really a spoiler. But I couldn't tell you that without making it into one.

However, I will be much more careful in future. Forgive me???

Pan · 20/11/2011 20:04

I went on digi once, and like hobs got toooootally lost, and like you Oak read the wrong result!

strictlycomedancingdiva · 20/11/2011 20:04

I know its a dance competition, but I'm still going to miss Russell.. Smile

Pan · 20/11/2011 20:07

i must have been awful having to wait to say all of that Oak. I think the thread will understand, forgive and absolve you of your sin.Grin

Animation · 20/11/2011 20:12

Right resullt - for Russell to go - and he was happy!

Glad they'll be back in the nice quiet studio next week - didn't much care for this Wmbley lark!!

Oakmaiden · 20/11/2011 20:12

I have been hovering over my keyboard waiting for the chance to explain myself!!!

CaveMum · 20/11/2011 20:15

I forgive you Oaky and it's my thread do what I says goes Grin

Animation · 20/11/2011 20:15

Also want to say that I LOVE Aliona - and don't think she deserves the negative press she gets on here, - and she connects very well with Harry.

Pan · 20/11/2011 20:20

and I love Aliona. tho' possibly in a different way........she was excellent in the choreography. The Pretty Punk is back. Len was really out of order in his comment - v. unprofessional and gives ground to believe he will cary his grudgey attitude to the marking.
