DC pointed out we have the same beakers, plates, blankets and chairs as bloody Justin? I mean don't they have a props dept?

They probably do have a props dept, but it's a lot cheaper to go to Ikea.

I used to work for a prop company and we did the odd thing for CBeebies. I can tell you that custom-made props are expensive and they didn't ever have much money (or so they said!)

FrankNCock · 26/10/2011 21:46

I'm sure a lot of the stuff on the Ooglies is supposed to be IKEA as well, even though it's animated!

FrankNCock · 26/10/2011 21:48

no wait, Ooglies is stop-motion, so it IS IKEA stuff then, isn't it?

WipsGlitter · 26/10/2011 21:49

All of the house in Grandpa in my Pocket seems to be from Ikea.

Secondtimelucky · 26/10/2011 21:51

Yup, DD has noticed that Justin has our beakers too.

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 26/10/2011 21:53

Everything on Cbeebies is from Ikea! We have the bright plastic crockery as well, plus some of the small tables etc - Makes me feel famous dahling!

amistillscary · 26/10/2011 21:56

...It's a ....... conspiracy ...

Subliminal advertising. The Swedish are known for it, and CBeebies is in league with them.

budgieshell · 26/10/2011 21:58

So do a lot of nursery schools.

25kilopumpkin · 26/10/2011 22:54

Children's centres all seem to be mainly equipped with stuff from ikea as well.

acsec · 26/10/2011 22:57

Mr Bloom has some Ikea things too - the big inflatible ladybird cushion thing I've spotted.

25kilopumpkin · 26/10/2011 23:00

I thought that could not be true on Mr Bloom, he, of all people would have a custom ladybird surely I am not sure about Mr Bloom...

Btw we reckon those coloured beakers have built in obscelesence (this phone can't spell) they leak a bit after a few hundred times in dishwasher?? N'est pas?

acsec · 27/10/2011 08:54

Definately the Ikea ladybird my friend has one and it is exactly the same. Sorry pumpkin

acsec · 27/10/2011 08:56

oops meant to link this too.

25kilopumpkin · 27/10/2011 14:20

Acsec I never doubted you but I do doubt MR Bloom, wouldn't leave him alone in a shed with my dc. Mind you they are very interested in the veggies ffs

I think the cbeebies house has a SMEG fridge, they've covered up the logo with toys.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 27/10/2011 14:27

Loads of programmes use props bought from IKEA. It's my favourite 'let's annoy the crap out of everyone' game, pointing them out (I work there so have the range seared into my brain) Grin

acsec · 27/10/2011 22:29

Mr Bloom is rather odd - don't like the way he calls the children "tiddlers"!

25kilopumpkin · 27/10/2011 23:18

Pretends he's from Yorkshire when he isnt and is v young for his clothing and lifestyle choices IMO

acsec · 28/10/2011 09:13

Mr Tumble is a weirdo too, I wouldn't really want any of those cbeebies show ppl near my children (when I have them)!
