Im so pleased Ive never seen it before, Ive been watching on Sky Atlantic from the beginning. Tonight its the one where they are lost in the forest and Ive heard its fantastic. Just opening the wine. Italian, for the occasion.

Was it the snowy forest where Paulie and Christopher blunder around like idiots? Brilliant, wasn't it?

kitya · 20/10/2011 11:46

Thats the first time Ive laughed properly at the Sopranos, Im usually wincing!! I really enjoyed it. The woman from the car showroom, whats she been in before? Im loving watching it from the beginning.

Are you talking about her from ER/The Good Wife - Julianna Margulies?

kitya · 20/10/2011 12:03

Is that who it is? I was thinking she looked liked someone from Mad Men.

Not sure I'm thinking of the same character. Is it <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=julianna+skiff&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=d4r&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&biw=1280&bih=885&tbm=isch&prmd=imvnso&tbnid=PUqmzR7XPXe5JM:&imgrefurl=cinematicpassions.wordpress.com/2008/03/25/reflections-on-the-sopranos-part-ii/&docid=OKqIem9qf7ihAM&imgurl=cinematicpassions.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/sopranos1151.jpg&w=401&h=330&ei=xgmgTvvcGIiv8QP30ITIBQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=182&vpy=185&dur=1651&hovh=204&hovw=248&tx=135&ty=115&sig=102525682512210625278&page=1&tbnh=143&tbnw=171&start=0&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">her?

kitya · 20/10/2011 13:05

I'll have to go and google. I thought Id seen her in Mad Men, the Jewish heiress who falls for Don?

Annabella Sciorra www.imdb.com/name/nm0001711/

She's been in a lot of things including the most depressing film I've ever seen: What Dreams May Come.

It co-starred Robin Williams so I imagine he planned it as a little light mawkishness about agonising death in a fireball and grief-stricken suicide and it kind of went wrong. Who'd have guessed?

Never, ever see this film if someone you loved killed themselves.

The Gloria and Tony plotline is one of the best.

qo · 20/10/2011 13:44

was it the pine barrens episode? my favourite!!

still mourning the passing of the sopranos

kitya · 21/10/2011 17:17

I think Tony loves Gloria? Does he?

OP posts:
limitedperiodonly · 21/10/2011 17:33

Mmm. But the course of true love...

Won't spoil it.

Byeckersiambloodyscarylike · 21/10/2011 17:37

Pine barrens, hilarious!

Paulie is my favourite character!

PetiteRaleuse · 21/10/2011 17:54

I'd agree that episode is a classic. I wish they hadn't stopped the Sopranos.

kitya · 21/10/2011 18:45

I've never seen him in anything else, have you? I find him oddly aatractive

OP posts:
PetiteRaleuse · 21/10/2011 20:50

Paulie? I think he had a bit part in Goodfellas. Or could have been one of the Godfather films.

kitya · 21/10/2011 21:30

No, I was thinking of Tony. Is that all he has done?

OP posts:
Byeckersiambloodyscarylike · 22/10/2011 05:27

Ive seen him in a few things, although i cant remember what, saw a film with him inrecently, off to wiki

PetiteRaleuse · 22/10/2011 08:32

He played the Mayor of NYC recently in a film. And he was in a film with Kirsten Stewart (she was a stripper) . And another recent film too but can't remmeber.

Don't think he's done much other TV stuff.

Feenie · 22/10/2011 08:38

That episode is brilliant - Steve Buscemi directed that one, I believe.

TheGoldRoad · 22/10/2011 08:51

That episode was written by the guy who plays Christopher !

You got fucking tic tacs whilst I'm starving here?!

I am sad, I have been watching The Sopranos nearly every night for months. Last night was the final episode Sad

TheGoldRoad · 22/10/2011 08:52

Also, Pualie was a 'real' gangster before he got into acting, had something to do with Cubans, which he sometimes mentions in the Sopranos.

PetiteRaleuse · 22/10/2011 09:51

A few of them have interesting backgrounds actually.

I want the recipe book - their food always looks so good.

Apparently there is a business book - management according to Tony Soprano or something like that - should be worth a read.
