I've met David Tennant, he kissed my cheek.

You've gone from loving me to hating me now, haven't you?

Grin
fiderer · 17/06/2011 17:22

MsTeak - hate you?
No, no. Really no.
No.
Did I say no?

CaveMum · 17/06/2011 17:30

[gives MsTeak the evil eye]

My book arrived! Very pretty, but most of it is just descriptions of the episodes. Some interesting bits though. Apparently Aaron Sorkin gave the President MS on a whim to make the episode where he collapses more interesting.

TinyPawz · 17/06/2011 22:56

Jason Isaacs accent was terrible!

TinyPawz · 17/06/2011 23:00

Grandhighpoohba I am most jealous. My clampet helpful royal mail man gave my book "to a neighbour", which is fine, however I live in a block of flats. He didn't say which neighbour and it is noone on my floor!

Grandhighpoohba · 18/06/2011 07:20

Our postie is similarly crap, so you have my sympathy!

fiderer · 18/06/2011 08:11

TinyPawz - I loved his accent, maybe I'm just deaf or too distracted by the visuals Grin and liked the character.
So is the book worth buying?

tribpot · 18/06/2011 08:18

Yes I'm afraid Jason could have been doing his Lucius Malfoy accent, claim to be from Belfast and I would still have been happy. The blond wig might have been a bit much to take, mind you.

TinyPawz · 18/06/2011 22:26

As a Belfast native I thought he accent was dire. More of a generic NI accent.

Book still being held hostage be a "neighbour"

TinyPawz · 18/06/2011 22:28

*his

fiderer · 19/06/2011 04:14

Tribpot, oh yes. Though agree about the wig.

TinyPawz, I'll be in Belfast next month, would happily have Jason along for accent analysis. To quote Josh "If wishing made it so..."

TinyPawz · 19/06/2011 16:06

fiderer on the off chance that Jason is busy next month and not able to make the trip, watch the episodes he is in on your return. You'll see/hear what I mean.

Coming to Belfast for a citybreak?

fiderer · 19/06/2011 16:57

TinyPawz I know I just want to enjoy. Shallow I am and shallow I shall remain. His accent, however inauthenthic, is just

Am visiting family.
Only cos Jason is busy. And he's not from NI. Am rejoining the real world.
Reluctantly.

tribpot · 19/06/2011 18:26

Jason will be on the silver screen next month of course, blond wig 'n' all.

fiderer · 19/06/2011 18:49

Oh my, yes. Only he could carry that wig off, tbh.
Showing the depths of my shallowness, so to speak.

tribpot · 19/06/2011 19:01

Yes, ever since his first "play nicely, Draco" said with an enormous quantity of menace he has held the prize for 'only man ever to make a Pam Anderson wig look sexy as hell' - imagine if they'd given him a He-Man bob .

fiderer · 20/06/2011 16:57

Hair trivia cont/d

CJ - the 1st Bartlet campaign frizz = least said the better.
Anna Wintour bob = too harsh.
Later longer darker = nah.
S4 (?) just above shoulder-length, lighter colour, feathered (is that a term?)
suits her.

Also she always had v unflattering glasses.

CaveMum · 20/06/2011 19:24

On the subject of political dramas, did anyone else catch The Kennedys over the weekend?

I have to say I rather liked it, though i know others did not think the same.

OP posts:
TinyPawz · 20/06/2011 19:25

Her outfits in s5 (iirc) were particularly bad. The episode with Big Bird sticks out in my mind for her horrendous ensemble.

TinyPawz · 20/06/2011 19:50

The Kennedys was on a lot of weeks ago on the History channel. I thought it was very good. He was portrayed as abit of a spineless git, at least as far as his father was concerned.

There is a fantastic scene between the mother & father, I think in episode 2/3 about revenge.

CaveMum · 20/06/2011 20:09

I get the impression that Americans don't like to hear criticism about JFK - he is their golden boy. I wonder if they would hold him in such high regard if he had not been assainated?

Joe snr was a real piece of work. DH's mum told me what he did to his poor daughter Sad. How can a parent do such a thing?

OP posts:
TinyPawz · 20/06/2011 20:20

Are you talking about the lobotomy? Or did he do something else to the poor girl?

CaveMum · 20/06/2011 21:27

Yes the lobotomy. I read the Wikipedia article about her (presuming it is all accurate).
