Yep-watched it last night. DP & I were amazed at the bare-faced cheek of the Vice Chancellors. No public sector employee should earn more than the Prime Minister & that is about £140,000 so hardly a hardship. I was also shocked at the number of foreign students at LSE. Two thirds? It's a shame more British students can't study there. It seems that higher education will very soon be a preserve of the rich around the world. I am so glad I am the age I am.

The reason for the high number of international students are the financial incentives that the universities receive from the government, and the fact that they can charge an international student up to £30,000 in fees, whilst they only receive a measly £3,000-£9,000 from home (British) students!!! Shocking I know, but greed prevails once again!

British students can study at LSE if they pay, simple as that. There are quite a lot of LSE Masters courses where home students pay the same as overseas students (ie the course doesn't get HEFCE funding) - the course are open to all, so long as you fork out...

Most academic salaries are shameful. Shamefully low, not high.
