OP posts:

That last film really upset DD2 6. I'm not sure whether to let her see any more.

BarbaraBar · 18/03/2011 20:07

I was going to bed v early tonight but no chance now.

I love comic relief Blush. Have cried twice already.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 18/03/2011 20:08

My god I have just bawled watching that film about that little girl :(

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 18/03/2011 20:08

I loathe Davina, she is dreadful.

BarbaraBar · 18/03/2011 20:10

Oh. Davina is on. Sigh. Off to bed soon.

MigratingCoconuts · 18/03/2011 20:10

to an earlier post, The Red Cross are doing a fundraising for japan here

I split my donations between the two (I have to say i cracked back last week when Lennie lost it in the orphan's slum 'house')

Raahh · 18/03/2011 20:19

I cried at the story about Esther and her baby sisterSad, so I donated again.

I love Claudia and have a soft spot for Michael M- however I don't like Davina- and am totally at a loss as to why on earth anyone find Harry Hill funny....

Did love the Masterchef bit.

kittens · 18/03/2011 20:23

Bless my little DD (8) - she saw the film about Esther and her little sister and asked if she could give the money she's been saving for weeks to Comic Relief. We have told her she can and we'll give the same but multiply it by 10.

slimyak · 18/03/2011 20:25

I"m of the OP style so have done my donation, opened the wine and hidden all the credit and debit cards. Let the blub fest continue...

Ingles2 · 18/03/2011 20:29

Am watching with my 2 boys, 9 + 11. 9yr old and I both sobbed our way through the film of Esther. Going to have to be careful about what I let him see tonight, but I think he's old enough to understand things can be pretty crap in Africa.
This is going to cost me a fortune.. ds1 wants to give everything we have.

therealmrsbeckham · 18/03/2011 20:33

Miranda is so funny - I love that she served gummy bears to the PM Grin

georgie22 · 18/03/2011 20:34

Aah kittens - that's so sweet of your daughter. Hope my DD (5 months) says the same in 8 years time! I always find it moving to watch but after having my daughter I'm worse than ever. The Rich, Famous and Living in the Slums was really powerful viewing and so sad. Sad

We've just donated online. Smile

girliefriend · 18/03/2011 20:41

I wanted to keep my dd up to watch a bit of it (age 5) but she was really tired tonight and was asking to go to bed at 7 but I do think its good for kids to see that some childrens lives are so much harder.

uh oh here comes eenders................

girliefriend · 18/03/2011 20:42

Why do you all hate davina?

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 18/03/2011 20:45

I watched the MAsterchef - very funny - and have now switched it off.

Great cause - SHITE TV.

ktwiltshire · 18/03/2011 21:39

eastenders had me neary crying.....my god it brings back painful memories

jodee · 18/03/2011 23:44

Just had enough after the dreadful George Michael song.

lovecheese · 19/03/2011 10:29

Did anyone see the film of Benta and her little boy Nicholas? Mum HIV and TB, living in a remote area of Kenya, boy born prematurely and unable to feed him due to her illness; absolutely heart-breaking scene of her holding him snuggled in a blanket, coo-ing to him about the lovely drink she had for him - sugar water, the poor little chap. She then made the journey to get help but died 2 days later, and little Nicholas died 3 days after his mum, God bless him.

So fucking sad, all he needed was formula milk and some help and he didn't get it. So so sad, I've been crying since, just can't get the image of mum giving the sugared water to him because it was all she had. I hope they are together in a happy place. SadSadSad

Kirisox · 19/03/2011 11:16

I agree, their story made me donate that minute and hug my 7 week old extra hard :(

pinkhyena · 19/03/2011 19:37

lovecheese that one was the worst for me thought it was so sad. DH was sobbing his heart out at the film of the man looking after with wife with dementia (similar thing with his grandparents but the other way round. His nan cared for her husband until he throttled her thinking she was a burgler).
Then he broke down again at that film about Gloria :(
DH is away tonight so having DS in my bed, giving him lots of extra cuddles!
