Did anyone see the film of Benta and her little boy Nicholas? Mum HIV and TB, living in a remote area of Kenya, boy born prematurely and unable to feed him due to her illness; absolutely heart-breaking scene of her holding him snuggled in a blanket, coo-ing to him about the lovely drink she had for him - sugar water, the poor little chap. She then made the journey to get help but died 2 days later, and little Nicholas died 3 days after his mum, God bless him.
So fucking sad, all he needed was formula milk and some help and he didn't get it. So so sad, I've been crying since, just can't get the image of mum giving the sugared water to him because it was all she had. I hope they are together in a happy place.
