Glee and gayness has been puzzling me.

Kurt being gay is a Big Deal. loads about it all the time, yet Britney is more homo that hetero and Santana bats for both sides bu tthat isn't an issue at all.

Is this a bit like Queen Victoria's refusal to acknowledge the existance of female gay people? It's ok for Brit and Santana because it isn't real but Kurt gets all the hassle?

Brit & Santana are cool girls, being in the Cheerios. So get away with whatever. And since they swing both ways the guys probably get off on it.

Lesbians are titillating (as long as they're pretty of course. Notice how all TV lesbians are always super attractive).
Gay men on the other hand are 'challenging'.

Also, Santana has sex with Puck all the time and Brittany has slept with literally everyone (except Finn :)), so I think they aren't seen as "gay". No one really knows about them ,where as Kurt is out.

No, that's ok. :) I'm American but we don't have any channels on our TV, or any internet right now. So I watch them as they come out on DVD. The last ep I saw was the Very Glee Christmas. But I'm hoping to get our internet up and running in the next few weeks, and then I assure you I'll catch up :)

Britney and Santana will be 'straight' one day. Wgeh they grow up they will be All-American housewives with picket fences and their 'playing around ' in high school will be a distant memory.

Whereas Kurt will always be gay, and will never want to or be able to be otherwise.

TBH I think the issues that are dealt with are more about his openness and effeminacy than his actual sexuality. If he was a closet, straight-scting gey, many of the issues of homophobia wouldn't arise, such as the duet with Sam for example.

I think it's great to watch a young guy being open and honest about his sexuality and dealing with the issues that that sometimes brings. I really hope that if there are any young lads watching in similar circumstances they'll find it useful.
